Check Out Maya Faulkner’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maya Faulkner

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello! My name is Maya Faulkner, and I’m the proud owner of Caribbean Swim Boutique. Born and raised in Florida with deep Caribbean roots, my love for fashion began at a young age-I would often spend hours sketching designs, even in grade school. Over the years, I immersed myself in social media and fashion, steadily growing as an influencer and designer until I found my true niche in swimwear.
The inspiration for Caribbean Swim Boutique struck while I was in the Virgin Islands for my grandmother’s funeral. Surrounded by the beauty of the Caribbean-the sand, the sea, and the breathtaking scenery felt a profound connection and a vision came to life. In those moments, I knew I wanted to create a swimwear line that celebrated the Caribbean spirit and embraced every body type. One of my greatest goals is to see women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds feel confident and represented. As a consumer myself, I noticed a lack of swimwear brands that genuinely supported body inclusivity.
Caribbean Swim Boutique is my answer to that need. Our designs are crafted for real women, and I’m intentional about selecting models who represent the beautiful diversity of our world.
Looking forward, I hope to expand the brand to include men’s swimwear, continuing my mission to help everyone feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their swimwear.
Caribbean Swim Boutique is more than just a brand to me-it’s my way of making every individual feel as vibrant and unique as the Caribbean itself.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting Caribbean Swim Boutique was definitely a journey with its fair share of obstacles. Like any entrepreneurial path, getting the business off the ground wasn’t always smooth. From sourcing quality materials to building an online presence and reaching the right audience, each step came with its own set of challenges. There were moments that tested my patience and resolve, but I learned that self-belief is key.
When you truly believe in your vision and stay focused, you can overcome any challenge that comes your way. Those early struggles only made me more determined to create a brand that empowers others.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As the owner of Caribbean Swim Boutique, an exclusively online swimwear brand, my work is all about creating swimwear that celebrates diversity, confidence, and self-expression. I specialize in designing pieces that reflect the vibrant energy of the Caribbean, inspired by my roots and travels.
My goal is to make every woman feel represented and comfortable in her skin, no matter her shape, size, or background.
I’m most proud of building a brand that focuses on inclusivity. In an industry where body diversity is often overlooked, Caribbean Swim Boutique stands apart by showcasing real women and designing with everyone in mind. I carefully select models who represent the beautiful range of people who wear my designs, and that approach is what truly sets us apart. It’s my mission to make each customer feel empowered and confident whenever they wear one of my pieces.
This brand is more than just swimwear—it’s a celebration of individuality and self-love.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I Like Best about Miami:
Miami’s energy is unlike any other! The vibrant mix of cultures creates such a unique atmosphere that brings out diverse tood, music, and art scenes. The fashion is bold and expressive, with people embracing bright colors, daring styles, and tropical flair that perfectly reflect Miami’s sunshine and warmth. And, of course, the weather – it’s the kind of climate that makes every day feel like a getaway.
What I Like Least about Miami:
The traffic can be intense, especially during peak times and tourist seasons. Also, as beautiful as the city is, the cost of living can be high, especially in the more popular areas.
But Miami’s upsides definitely make it worth it – it’s a city that makes up for any downsides with its vibrant spirit!
