Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosselyn Chang
Hi Rosselyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I studied Fashion Design in Peru 27 years ago, I began to make alterations in the pandemic, I opened many garments until I managed to sew as a manufacturing seam, I had my mother’s advice, so little by little I improved, as the years passed. I worked in a dry cleaners from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., when I finished my work I started sewing. Those nights I was always accompanied by my mother and father who were in my country and thanks to technology they were always with me, I still listen when my mother told me that it was too late and my father told us to leave, they were my best company. My way of being, makes me look for perfection and I can unsed a thousand times until the garment is as it should, I always hope that my clients leave happy. I had moments when I didn’t want to do it anymore, when my mother left this world, I was in front of the sewing machines, I had to fix 3 dresses for a wedding and I only dried my tears of pain and continued, the responsibility that my parents taught me did not let me go home and cry my pain. The road was difficult, no one knew me, I put my name on the Google map and when my first client arrived I was so happy and the best in the world arrived, in fact to this day I see it, I attend to the bride who will soon be the wife and I hope to be able to take care of her children
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
