Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Gomez
Hi Sasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My husband always wanted to be a part of the cannabis world, and he saw this new up and coming company that was somewhat in the path he wanted to be, and we took the chance to learn a little about what the business opportunity was and started the process right away.
It took us almost a year from the day we made our decision, It wasn’t as easy as we thought, we learned so much
through this process. It took long to get permits and everything that the city required, finding a location that would allow us to open a medical marijuana clinic and at the same time educate people on this new medicine that was once consider a drug.
Initially our plan was to open in cutler bay and we ended up finding a place here in homestead, which has been now our home for the last 5 years. and,
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road, but definitely one i would take again. Since day one we have had to push and be open to the possibilities of the unknown, keeping faith through hiccups and struggles along the way.
Finding the location, getting the permits and inspectors was one of the many rocks on the road that we found. Opening our office to the community was another one, educating patients and even us learning about the new benefits this plant has when used responsibly and how we would work with the department of health and their regulations.
The first year was the hardest, our sales weren’t really what we expected, I will say the price on obtaining the card and prescription was a little hard in the pocket. 2020 was our best year, things really started picking up and patients and the community were a little more open to the benefits and how this was helping people they new, so the word to mouth from our patients really helped us grow.
Since then the medical marijuana industry has changed, and people have changed with it. This year we encounter elections and whether amendment 3 would pass or not. Today we move forward, with the same passion to help our patients to make the process as easy and hoping they come back to us.
Everyday is a learning and we are grateful for all of it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My husband and I have worked retail most of our career. Silvio is a retail general store manager who’s work for the company for over 15 years, he has grown in that company from being a seasonal to now managing two stores and a team that appreciates and loves working with him.
I worked retail for over 10 years and now I take care of our office, from planning, to hiring, to anything that i can do to keep growing our business .
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I am so thankful for the girls in the office, calling patients, booking appointments, working with different doctors and making it happen when is show time.
I want to especially say Thank you to Kristina. Kristina has been with us for about 3 years now, she has been my left and right hand. Her passion, dedication and work ethic never goes unnoticed, she truly is someone that has help our business grow.
