Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Jeanty
Hi Asia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my business in 2020 while on maternity leave. My sister owned a small boutique and was looking for someone to make candles to sell in her store but had difficulty finding anyone. Since I had some free time, I offered to make them for her, and I’ve been fully committed to candle making ever since. About two years ago, while attending an event, someone asked if I could host a candle-making class, and from that moment on, I’ve been conducting classes regularly.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth journey, but it also hasn’t been a major struggle. My main challenges have been managing my lifestyle, especially as a single mom, while balancing my job as a flight attendant. The toughest part, though, has been promoting my business and getting it the visibility it needed.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run a candle-making business where I also host creative, hands-on classes for events and team-building sessions. In addition to candle making, I offer other DIY experiences like, linen spray making, and custom tumbler creation. I specialize in providing a memorable and engaging experience for participants, tailoring classes to suit special events like holiday parties and even offering themed workshops for each month of the year.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve built through my workshops and the unique experiences I offer. What sets me apart is the range of creative options and themes I provide, along with the ability for clients to personalize their events. I love creating spaces where people can relax, bond, and leave with something they’ve made themselves.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice is to just go for it and not let negativity hold you back. Stay focused on your goals and trust in your abilities. One thing I wish I knew when I was starting out is to have more confidence in myself from the beginning—it would have made the journey a lot smoother. Believe in what you’re doing and push forward, even when doubts arise.
