Today we’d like to introduce you to Monika Brzozowska
Hi Monika, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from Poland but have been living in London for half of my life now. I still travel often between London and Miami. I have worked a lot of different jobs in my lifetime, from working in hospitality as a shop assistant to call centers in corporate positions. I believe that these roads or paths have led me to greatness. I’m still on the road and always will be. I want to be an inspiration to encourage people to not be afraid of trying new things. Do not be afraid to start over from scratch; especially in a new country, a new city where you do not know anyone or anything. Try new things, quit that job you don’t like, leave that environment where you don’t feel like you fit in. Don’t be afraid of losing people but always count on yourself. Things will always work out for you no matter what if you only believe in yourself. Be kind, be humble and just enjoy the ride!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Haven’t ever had a smooth road but I think all the hard situations I have endured have made me the person I am today. Especially losing people like “friends” who you had thought of as family. I’ve learned that the best thing to do is “Everything on your own.”
I had many struggles during my journey – Twelve years or so ago, I lost a part of me that I’ll never get back. A part of my life that had been with me since day one. My sister, tragically passed away in front of me, and I was helpless to the situation. It was one of the greatest struggles I’ve endured, and will remain as one of the greatest struggles I think and hope I will ever go through. Rock bottom was what it took for me to find the courage to seek out profesional help. Therapy is what had set me free, back from the depths, I found a new freedom in the strength I gained from my therapy sessions. A strength to persevere.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Fitness trainer, content creator and I am currently in the stage of writing my first book.
A fitness oriented lifestyle has always been with me. I know that the moment I realized that I decided to make it my priority a healthy daily lifestyle was when I lost my sister due to sickness that overcame her. I was lost and if not for the gym I don’t know how I would’ve coped with the grief. When I saw how big of an impact it had on me I decided to become a fitness trainer and help encourage others to find this peace of mind as well. As for me, fitness is not about looking good – it is about feeling good within yourself and we don’t realize how it can help us with our mental health and daily day-to-day tasks.
I’m proud of myself that I’m finally after years of hard work and great pushes, that I have started writing my own book and I can’t wait to be able to share it with the world. I know that I was too afraid of what others would know about me; but I finally felt that this was the right thing to do and that this was exactly what I needed to do for myself, and for others.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Used to work as a chef assistant in my 20s
