Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Rua
Hi Daniel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is one of resilience, reinvention, and a deep-rooted passion for creativity. Colombian, raised in Miami, and then moved to Canada at the age of 16 because of Asylum parents never received. I spent many years in Canada specifically in Montreal, becoming an owner of a well renowned restaurant in Montreal, but my life took a drastic turn just before I decided to return to Miami. At 34, I was a passenger in a work vehicle when a severe accident left me with a broken hip in three places, requiring me to relearn how to walk over the course of a year. The experience, though challenging, became a pivotal moment in my life, inspiring me to take a new direction toward the creative side I always admired, and really wanted. I like to say I found beauty in chaos.
At 35, I returned to Miami, this time with a renewed vision and commitment to storytelling. Since then, I have built a career working with high-end entrepreneurs, helping them craft and share their stories through engaging social media content. With my agency, Globe Wide Agency, I create visuals that resonate, connecting brands with audiences in meaningful, impactful ways. Because I do not invest in time I really enjoy investing in people.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been filled with challenges that have tested my resilience and pushed me to adapt in ways I never anticipated. Growing up, I had to navigate a lot of change—moving from Miami to Canada at 16, learning French, and adjusting to new cultures. Each transition demanded that I find a way to fit in, to make a life from scratch, even when it felt like I was starting over every time.
After my accident, life took a hard turn. I had to relearn how to walk, which was one of the toughest periods I’ve faced. And when I eventually created Globe Wide Agency, I found myself facing an entirely different set of struggles. Building the agency from the ground up was a real test of endurance. There were countless late nights making cold calls, trying to generate leads, and hoping to secure enough work just to keep going. Some months, I was financially on the edge, almost out of money, wondering if this path was sustainable.
Each struggle taught me resilience, grit, and the power of pushing through when the odds are stacked.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator and the founder of Globe Wide Agency, where we specialize in producing high-impact visuals that help high-end entrepreneurs tell their stories in ways that resonate deeply with their audience. My work is about more than just creating content; it’s about building a narrative that aligns with a brand’s values and leaves a lasting impression.
In terms of specialization, my background spans both photography and videography, and I’m known for a style that blends creativity with strategic storytelling. Whether it’s crafting social media campaigns or directing full-scale video shoots, I focus on bringing out the unique essence of each brand, capturing what makes them stand out in a crowded market. One thing I’m particularly proud of is our versatility my team and I can move between high-energy events, luxury lifestyle shoots, and brand campaigns with the same level of attention to detail and creativity.
What sets me apart is my journey. I’ve navigated multiple countries, cultures, and even personal challenges that have shaped how I see the world. I bring this adaptability and cultural insight to every project, allowing me to connect with diverse audiences on a personal level. I’m most proud of building Globe Wide Agency from the ground up, overcoming obstacles, and helping clients achieve authentic connections with their audience through engaging content.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Apps: I use Notion religiously for organizing projects, brainstorming, and managing content ideas. It’s perfect for keeping everything in one place and tracking multiple projects at once. Slack is essential for communication, especially working with clients and team members in different locations.
Books: “Atomic Habits” by James Clear has been invaluable for building consistent habits that keep me grounded and productive. Another favorite is “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries, which gave me a strong foundation in running my agency with a flexible, results-oriented approach.
Podcasts: The Tim Ferriss Show and How I Built This are my go-tos. They’re packed with insights from entrepreneurs who’ve faced similar challenges, and I always come away with ideas that inspire me to keep pushing.
Blogs: The Creative Independent offers inspiring perspectives on the creative journey, and HubSpot’s Marketing Blog keeps me up-to-date with digital marketing trends and strategies that I can apply to my work with clients.
