Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulina Reitman
Hi Paulina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s in Marketing. Initially, I was uncertain about my next steps and considered pursuing an MBA at FSU, but life had other plans. I felt anxious about entering the real world, which made me realize it was time to step outside of my Florida comfort zone and pursue my NYC dreams.
With that in mind, I decided to apply for a Marketing Master’s at NYU, unsure if I’d get in. On the day of my FSU graduation, I received the exciting news that I had been accepted into NYU! It was a pivotal moment for me, reaffirming my belief that everything happens for a reason. The year 2023 was a whirlwind—between graduating, preparing for my big move to NYC, losing my dog, and feeling unfulfilled in my full-time job.
Once I moved to NYC, I made the decision to dive into my social media career while balancing life as a full-time master’s student. People often say, “Just keep posting and don’t worry about what others think.” That’s exactly what I did. I started posting on TikTok 1-2 times a day, focusing on NYC life, being an NYU student, fashion, health, and more. At first, I didn’t see much growth, but I stayed consistent.
Fast forward a year, and I’m approaching 100k TikTok followers! I’ve had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with brands like Alo Yoga, Skims, Fabletics, Prada Beauty, and Le Vian jewelry, as well as attend incredible events like New York Fashion Week and store openings. As I look toward my graduation in December 2024, I’m excited for what’s to come—continuing my social media journey and starting my marketing career, whether in New York or Miami. My advice: keep chasing your dreams, because persistence pays off!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the toughest moments was losing my dog, which hit me really hard right as I was in the midst of so many big life changes. Moving to NYC was also a huge adjustment—going from the familiarity of Florida to the fast-paced, overwhelming city was exciting but also challenging. There were days when my anxiety felt pretty intense, especially with everything going on.
On top of that, I was trying to grow my TikTok, and for a while, it felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. I kept posting content, but I wasn’t seeing much growth, which was frustrating. Balancing school, life, and social media was a lot to handle, especially being so far from my family, who are still in Florida. Missing them has definitely been hard at times, but I try to stay focused on why I’m here and the goals I’m working toward.
Each struggle has taught me something about resilience and persistence, and I’m grateful for the growth that’s come out of those tough moments.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a content creator specializing in TikTok, where I focus on lifestyle, fashion, NYC living, fitness, and health. What sets me apart is my commitment to authenticity—I’m passionate about being genuine with my followers and staying true to who I am. I think that’s what has helped me build a loyal community and keep growing.
I’m most proud of my consistency and the balance I’ve been able to maintain while living in NYC as a full-time master’s student and growing my social media. Creating content isn’t as simple as it might seem—there’s a lot of planning, editing, and ideation that goes into each post. I’ve learned to approach it with both creativity and strategy, constantly pushing myself to stay fresh and innovative.
What sets me apart is my ability to genuinely connect with my audience while juggling multiple responsibilities. I’m proud of how I’ve stayed humble and true to myself, despite the challenges. Looking forward, my goal is to continue building meaningful content and eventually launch my own brand and podcast, while staying authentic every step of the way.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always full of energy and loved to have fun. I was the kid who would talk to everyone, always socializing and chit-chatting. I had a creative side early on, especially with making iMovies—I loved editing and putting together little videos, which is funny because it all ties into what I do now! Fashion was another big interest of mine. I was constantly sketching designs and coming up with my own creations. It’s great to see how those early interests in creativity and design have followed me into adulthood
