Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Davis
Hi Alison, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am currently experiencing a 2nd and 3rd full career. I am a retired letter carrier in the city of Miami Florida. I continued with high education with obtaining a Master’s degree in counseling and a Doctoral degree in Counseling Education and Supervision. I am licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Supervisor in the state of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor in the state of Georgian. I have been a community mental health counselor working with all populations, cultures and demographics that extend from the Florida Keys to Deerfield Florida and beyond. I am currently an Associate Professor at Miami Dade College Homestead campus as well as an adjunct for other Higher Education Counselor Programs. I enjoy sharing the teaching platform as well as being directly involved as a practitioner and interventionist. I also speak and share about mental health on serval platforms as an invited guest. My purpose and passion is to normalize mental health. I have a trademark statement, “Mental Health is an everyday in every way response to life”.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a Beautiful Blessing in many ways and I never anticipate smooth roads and actually have always enjoyed diversity in terrain.

My dominant discipline is ALL things Psychology.
I lecture and I provide mental health therapy.
I work as a team player for organizations.
What sets me apart is usually that I was a mail carrier and retired.
I am most proud of my family and how each person is on their own pathway.
Any big plans?
My plans are to enjoy the processes of life each day.
My plan is to provide education for future practitioners that will be the front line and Change Makers.
My plan is to build my public speaking platform.
