Conversations with Rachel Martin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Martin

Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Here’s the updated version with your final message:

**Rachel Martin: A Rose From Concrete**

My name is Rachel Martin, and at 33, my journey in modeling is about resilience, determination, and staying true to my passion. Modeling has always been my passion. Back in high school, I worked behind the scenes for Victoria’s Secret with Nichelle during a fashion show for Andrews University, and I also participated in a fashion show for Berrien Springs High School’s cultural event. I was even featured in the local newspaper for it. So really, this has always been my path, and it was just a matter of time before I fully embraced it.

My sense of style came from my late grandmother, who passed away. She was incredibly fashion-forward, and I love that about her. She had such a unique way of carrying herself and making a statement through what she wore. That influence has stayed with me throughout my life and into my career as a model.

I started modeling professionally at the age of 30, during what I call my “mid-life crisis.” I told myself, “It’s now or never,” and went for it. My first audition was for Style Showcase Chicago, and I landed it. That was the moment everything took off. Since then, I’ve been featured in 23 publications, appeared on a billboard, starred in four music videos, and my portfolio continues to grow.

But my story isn’t just about modeling. I’m also a mother of three beautiful children, and five years ago, I started my hair company, **Love Natural Hair Care Products**. I wanted to help people embrace their natural beauty and feel empowered in their own skin. Watching my business grow has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey.

And I’m not done yet. I have an invention that I know is going to change the world—something no one has ever seen before. I’m keeping the details under wraps for now, but I’m excited for the future.

What I really want people to understand is that no matter how old or young you are, your dream is never deferred. You always have the opportunity to step into your passion, even if the world says you can’t, even if your family doesn’t support you, even if no one cheers for you. You are still capable of doing what you need to do.

Where there is a will, there is a way, and only God can put you to the forefront. But only you can put you to the forefront as well. I came from humble beginnings, and I like to call myself a rose from the concrete. I’ve faced many challenges, but I know I’m going to master everything I was sent here to do. I call myself a multi-billionaire mind because I have ideas that no one else has, and I’m going to achieve them.

To whoever’s reading this, I love you all. I wish nothing but greatness for you. Remember, don’t give up—where there is a will, there is a way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Here’s the updated second part of the article:

**Rachel Martin: The Road Less Traveled**

Modeling hasn’t always been a smooth road for me. It’s easy to look at my achievements and think it all came naturally, but the truth is, I’ve heard far more “no’s” than “yes’s” along the way. There have been moments when rejection seemed like the norm, and any other person might have walked away. But not me. My perseverance won’t let me give up. I’m not one to back down when faced with a challenge.

Some of my struggles along the way were because I’m a single mother. I didn’t have a lot of support when it came to raising my children, and juggling both motherhood and modeling wasn’t easy. On top of that, I have crooked teeth, and I heard a lot of “no’s” because of it. In an industry that’s all about perfection, it felt like a major setback. And at 5’5″, I’m shorter than the standard model height, which also worked against me. But despite those things, I’ve prevailed.

How can I be 33 with these achievements? It sounds impossible, right? People often wonder how I’ve made it this far, and the answer lies in my favorite saying: where there’s a will, there’s a way. It’s more than just words for me—it’s a truth I live by every day. I’ve always believed that if I put my heart and soul into something, I’ll find a way to make it happen.

My ultimate goal is to grace the cover of **Vogue**. For me, Vogue represents the pinnacle of fashion and success, the place where icons are made. I’ve been aiming for that cover since the day I started modeling, and I know I’ll get there. Here’s the amazing part: Vogue was created on December 17th, and my birthday is December 17th. It feels like destiny. It’s as if the stars have aligned for this exact purpose. I truly believe that moment is coming for me.

No matter what obstacles you face, they’re just hurdles waiting to be jumped over. If I can do it, so can you.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Here’s the updated third part of the article:

**Rachel Martin: More Than a Model**

While modeling is my passion, it’s not the only thing that defines me. I went to school for medical administrative assistance and have worked in the medical records field for over 10 years, specifically with record retrieval companies. I’ve always had a strong work ethic, and my ability to balance different roles has been key to my journey. I was also a manager at a Jewish preschool, which was a rewarding experience that taught me a lot about leadership and patience.

But beyond my professional background, I’m a creative at heart. I love to create, whether it’s in fashion, music, painting, or art. For me, creativity is freedom. It’s a way to express myself and bring new ideas into the world. Fashion, of course, is a big part of that—it’s a form of art that allows me to connect with people visually. But I’m equally passionate about music and painting, and I find that my creative energy often flows between these different outlets.

I’m also truly proud of being a mother and maintaining motherhood, especially because I missed out on having both a mother and father as a child. To be in this position now—having children, maintaining my goals, and raising my family—despite the struggles, is rewarding to me. Creating a business from the ground up is something I take pride in, and pursuing my passion for modeling while balancing everything is a huge accomplishment. It proves to me every day that the challenges are worth it.

What sets me apart from other people is my mind and my willingness to thrive. My determination to never give up and always be on top drives me forward. I have no competition but myself and what I did the day before. My knowledge and understanding are my greatest assets, and I truly believe that I am a literal god walking on this earth. That’s what makes me unique.

Being able to wear many hats—whether in my career or my creative pursuits—has shaped me into the person I am today. It’s given me the courage to take risks, think outside the box, and keep pushing forward, no matter the challenges.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Here’s the updated fourth part of the article:

**Rachel Martin: What Makes Me Happy**

What makes me happy is life itself—living, understanding, growing, and learning from the journey. Each day is a new opportunity to experience the world in all its complexities, and I cherish that. My children bring me immense joy; they are my motivation and my reason to strive for more.

People make me happy. I find so much joy in love—whether it’s the love I share with my children, friends, or even the love I see in the world around me. When I witness others living their truth, it fills me with happiness. There’s something beautiful about authenticity and seeing people shine in their own light.

Waking up every morning makes me happy, especially because I came from struggle. After everything I’ve been through, I don’t take a single day for granted. When I can open my eyes and live another day to fight another fight, I feel ecstatic. Each morning is a reminder that I have the chance to create, to love, and to embrace life fully.

Most importantly, God makes me happy. Without God, I wouldn’t even be here. Without His understanding, I wouldn’t even be alive. God is the ultimate source of my happiness, guiding me through every challenge and blessing me with the strength to pursue my dreams.
