Life & Work with David Cole of West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Cole

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Three years ago, I embarked on an incredible journey by writing my first book, “Don’t Burn It.” To my amazement, it soared to number 4 on Amazon’s best sellers list within its first month. Buoyed by this success, I seized the opportunity to venture into the world of business. I founded Cooking Classes, offering a unique and immersive experience unlike any other. Every month, I curate six new menus, including themed nights like the glamorous 1920s, where participants dress the part. What sets my classes apart is the intimate and elegant setting. Each participant is assigned their own station, and their dining table is adorned to complement their chosen menu. The dimly lit ambiance creates an inviting atmosphere, making it a truly unforgettable experience. I take great pride in being the only cooking experience of this caliber in the entire state of Florida.

Following the triumph of my first book and the success of my business, I penned two more titles that also shattered personal records. My second book climbed to #2, and the third book followed suit with remarkable success. Since the inception of my business, I have crafted over 198 unique menus, attracting a plethora of returning and satisfied customers. My journey has been fueled by sheer determination, refusing to accept “NO” as an answer. I have built my little empire from the ground up financially completely myself, with strong support from my family, who have been an integral part of my journey and have featured prominently in every book I’ve published. Family is everything, and they have been my rock throughout this incredible journey.

Believe in yourself wholeheartedly. Despite hearing numerous “no’s” and “It won’t work out,” it’s your choice whether to accept them or to transform them into “yeses.” Remember, we only live once, so make the most of every moment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! Entrepreneurship is far from smooth sailing. You’re bound to make numerous mistakes along the way. But you know what’s incredible about those mistakes? You learn from them. When I first launched my business, I had absolutely no clue about its intricate workings. It was an uphill battle. I dedicated endless hours to scouring the internet for resources on business fundamentals and how to kickstart my own venture. There were countless moments when I questioned myself, wondering, “Can I really do this?” However, with each new piece of knowledge I gained, my confidence soared. Did I stumble and make blunders? Absolutely! But each misstep became a valuable lesson. The pride that comes from overcoming these mistakes when you’re building something from scratch is unparalleled. When you outsource tasks like paperwork and administrative duties, you miss out on the opportunity to truly understand the inner workings of your business. That’s why I’m immensely proud and content with my decision to handle everything myself – from building the website to navigating the complexities of business taxes and all the paperwork that comes with running a business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have always been a “dreamer,” setting my goals as high as possible. When I embarked on my journey with my books, I had no idea about publishing or how to structure a book. However, I immersed myself in learning, watching videos, and reading materials on book creation.

When I launched my first book, I took on the task of designing it entirely by myself. From crafting each page, taking all the photos, to working on editing programs to make the pages colorful and artistic, I dedicated myself to the process. And it paid off! I firmly believe that with dedication, you can conquer the world. My focus has always been on self-improvement, striving to be the best version of myself and surpassing expectations to prove the naysayers wrong.

I am known for my unwavering positivity. In addition to publishing three books, I run a successful business that I genuinely enjoy and have recently gained popularity on social media, amassing over 400,000 followers. While I understand that social media isn’t everything, it undeniably contributes to sales. However, what I am most proud of is my family. I have included them in every book, creating enduring memories for the future.

My determination sets me apart. I am constantly driven to learn more, immersing myself in diverse subjects to connect with people on a deeper level. I firmly believe that broadening your knowledge allows you to connect with anyone, leading to personal and professional growth. What also sets me apart is that I am not solely business driven. I have a deep love for people and a genuine desire to help others. Despite having a soft heart, I am resilient, as they say, “if you have a soft heart, you must have a tough spirit, so when someone kicks you, you won’t feel much!”

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the cooking industry undergoing several significant changes over the next 5-10 years. One major trend is the increasing popularity of alternative protein sources. As more people become health-conscious and environmentally aware, there will be a greater demand for plant-based cooking / healthier nonchemically altered food options and alternative protein products.

Additionally, I anticipate a growing interest in global flavors and fusion cuisine. With the world becoming more interconnected, people are becoming more adventurous with their food choices and are seeking out new and exciting flavor combinations from different cultures.

Furthermore, technology will continue to play a significant role in the cooking industry.
