Check Out Cristina Lama-Evensky’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Lama-Evensky

Hi Cristina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2020, the whole world came to a halt when covid-19 emerged, my children Kiran, Nicolas, and Autumn Evensky and I decided to thank our Frontline heroes by delivering meals to feed them during the pandemic. When tragedy struck and my own father succumbed to covid 19, we took our pain and tears and used it to honor his memory. We decided to thank our Frontline workers every thanksgiving and Christmas by providing hot meals to those that cannot be with their families during the holidays. This is how Elio’s Kitchen was born.
Since it’s inception we have delivered to many hospitals, fire department after the collapse of the Surfside condos.
We have expanded our programs we have started working with social workers around various hospitals to identify the families of critical-ill children in need of whom we may provide financial assistance, to date we have supplied specialized wheelchair, bought numerous baby car seats so families can take their newborns home safely and critical need utility bills such as power to keep their light on, we have collaborate with other non profit to help a bone marrow family with financial needs with our emergency funding.
We are expanding our program to help children in need of mental health thru our music therapy program at Holtz Children’s hospital.
Our mission is to continue to expand these programs in our community

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything is a struggle when you are building a program, but if you have faith and believe in your mission everything is possible

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being a mother is one of my greatest gift, being around creative people inspires me, and working with talented and dedicated members of our health care community

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My father traveling thru my country Peru with all his children
