Today we’d like to introduce you to Shani Avidar
Hi Shani, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into sleep coaching began from my personal experience as a mom. Before becoming a Certified Pediatric Sleep Coach, I spent nearly two decades in corporate America, juggling a high-powered career while raising a newborn. Like many new parents, sleepless nights began to take a toll on my health, well-being, and productivity. It became clear that I needed a solution, which led me to the world of pediatric sleep coaching. With my children born back-to-back and being pregnant for three years straight, sleep wasn’t just a priority for my kids—I needed it for my own physical and emotional health.
Like most parents, my husband and I struggled with infant sleep and felt utterly exhausted. Determined to make a change, I did extensive research, learning everything I could to improve our children’s sleep. By the time our third baby arrived, I had become a “sleep pro,” confident in applying what I’d learned. I discovered the Baby Led Sleep Approach, a method that perfectly aligned with our parenting philosophy. This approach not only transformed our children’s sleep patterns but also strengthened my bond with them and restored balance to our lives.
In addition to sleep coaching, I completed the Wholechild Company Breastfeeding Program to better support new and expecting moms with breastfeeding. Today, my passion is helping other families navigate their sleep challenges, using practical, research-based tools to create lasting sleep solutions.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to building my business has been anything but smooth. One of the biggest challenges was deciding to leave a stable, high-earning job in corporate America for the uncertainty of starting my own business. It was a leap of faith, especially when you’re used to a steady paycheck, and the prospect of venturing into a completely new field felt daunting.
What many people don’t realize is that seeing clients is just one part of the job. Behind the scenes, there’s the equally demanding work of marketing, building a brand, and making sure my services reach the right families. It’s a full-time job in itself. Balancing that with client work, while still maintaining my own family life, has been a real learning curve, but it’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact on families and children.
In the end, the decision to pursue this path was driven by my passion for helping parents overcome the same sleep struggles I experienced. Knowing I can make a real difference makes the challenges worth it.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When it comes to finding a mentor or networking, my advice is to be proactive and open to learning from various sources. Networking can take many forms, from attending industry events to simply having meaningful conversations with others in your field. I’ve found that building authentic relationships is key, sometimes the best connections come from casual interactions rather than formal networking events.
In addition to networking, having the right mentors can make all the difference. Personally, I work with both a business coach and a marketing coach, and they’ve been incredibly helpful in providing direction and support as I grow my business. They help me focus on strategic planning and ensure I’m maximizing my impact. I’d highly recommend finding coaches or mentors who align with your goals, as they can offer invaluable guidance and keep you accountable as you navigate your professional journey.
