Daily Inspiration: Meet Bianca Baptiste Mills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Baptiste Mills

Hi Bianca Baptiste, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Bianca Baptiste Mills, and I am the founder and CEO of the BFitMovement. Born on March 6, 1990, in Miami, Florida, I am the youngest of seven siblings. Growing up, I was an incredibly athletic and adventurous child with dreams of becoming a professional modern, jazz, and ballet dancer. However, life took a different turn, leading me to become a Youth Director, dance instructor, Athletic Trainer, and fitness enthusiast.

While pursuing my degree in sports medicine, I was actively involved in the dance ministry at my church. Little did I know that my life would change forever in 2015 when I began teaching Sunday school, fully immersing myself in ministry while also graduating college. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Barry University, and in 2016, I started my career as an Athletic Trainer.

Throughout my journey, I often encountered confusion between my role as an Athletic Trainer and that of a personal trainer. Despite my explanations, people frequently asked, “Can you help me get fit?” I would smile and respond, “Of course.” My experience in nurturing individuals through ministry, combined with my knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation, prepared me to address fitness and body management comprehensively.

As I interacted with others, I realized many needed motivation and guidance in their fitness journeys. Conversations with friends sparked the idea to share my insights from both spiritual and athletic perspectives. I recognized that physical appearance often reflects inner well-being and that many lacked the motivation, resources for expensive gym memberships, or access to organized sports.

In 2017, I launched the BFitMovement, aimed not only at transforming physiques but also at fostering healing and care for the inner self, which can hinder overall health. My mission was to teach everyone I met how to achieve fitness in mind, body, and soul.

Initially, I offered group classes for just $1 each and personal sessions for $25 per hour. While many thought my pricing was unconventional, I remained focused on my mission: it was never about the money.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, this journey has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. I recognized my knowledge and capabilities, but I struggled to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship, especially coming from an academic background. There was no crash course on running a business, no structured curriculum to follow—just the need to believe in myself and take risks.

Throughout this process, I faced numerous ups and downs in maintaining consistency. Balancing my full-time ministry work and my role as an Athletic Trainer for over 500 athletes, made it even more daunting to teach myself the ins and outs of business management. It has truly been a difficult but invaluable learning experience.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My professional life encompasses two major roles. For nearly nine years, I have served as a Youth Director at my church in North Miami, and for the past eight years, I have been a Licensed and Board Certified Athletic Trainer. Currently, I lead the Youth and Young Adults department at my church while also working full-time as the Head Athletic Trainer at a Miami-Dade County public high school.

What I take the most pride in is the unique intersection of these two roles. Although the responsibilities of a Youth Director and an Athletic Trainer differ significantly, they share common elements centered around mentorship, education, and community engagement.

I have the privilege of providing guidance and support as a mentor to both youth and athletes. This dual focus allows me to develop programs that foster personal growth in young people while also creating injury prevention and rehabilitation initiatives tailored for athletes. I am fortunate to educate youth on leadership and social issues while also impacting the athletic community by informing my athletes and coaches about injury risks, proper techniques, and health practices.

Both roles highlight the importance of support, education, and community involvement, all of which contribute to the overall development and well-being of those I serve. I feel truly blessed to be able to impact lives in such meaningful ways.
