Rising Stars: Meet Valeria Gould of Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria Gould

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born in Lima, Peru, to young parents who separated early in my childhood, I learned the value of empathy and resilience from a young age. Growing up, I found solace and purpose in helping others, understanding the diversity of every person’s reality, and striving to add some peace to their life, despite reflecting my own fractured family dynamics. Beyond any challenge I faced, my determination to fight for my dreams never wavered.
From my earliest years, I excelled academically, particularly in mathematics, which ignited my passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking. After graduating in Business Administration in my home country, I embarked on a career path that took me to various roles, including working for the Department of Education in the United Nations Peruvian program and serving as the logistics manager for an international company specializing in medical technology.
In 2016, I made the life-changing decision to move to the United States, where I focused on improving my health and other medical issues by delving into the principles of biology. My journey took an altruistic turn when I volunteered as a Yoga coach for autistic children in New York City, igniting my passion for working with vulnerable communities.
Driven by my passion for research and a desire to make a meaningful impact, I embarked on a mission to develop a more empathetic and effective method to improve learning and awareness, drawing upon the principles of cognitive neuroscience. This led me to relocate to Florida in 2021 to pursue a degree in Behavior and Neuroscience, laying the groundwork for my future endeavors.
Currently, I am nearing the completion of my studies, with plans to continue my academic journey by pursuing a Ph.D. in Quantum Dynamics, which will further enrich the foundation of my research. Through my experiences and education, I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others and pushing the boundaries of knowledge and understanding in the fields of behavior and neuroscience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been, and it still isn’t, a smooth journey to achieve the company’s goals. Being in the healthcare field presents many challenges, especially when trying to participate as a natural provider offering preventive methods within insurance coverage, even if those methods are rooted in neuroscience. Additionally, the market is heavily dominated by a single approach, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which makes it difficult for innovative methods to gain traction and find a place in the industry.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work focuses on enhancing cognition, analytical thinking, and emotional intelligence in my clients. I began as a volunteer coach for autistic children, who have since become not only my most important clients but also my friends. With a specialization in neuroscience, I base all my methods on rigorous scientific research and studies. I’m proud to have helped children of various ages become verbal, develop the ability to analyze and understand their surroundings, and express their emotions more effectively. Despite proven testimonials demonstrating the evolution of learning methods for the neurodivergent community, it remains challenging to disrupt the dominance of traditional therapies in the industry.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
My abilities to solve math and understand science.
