Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamone Ukegbu
Hi Diamone, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Between the Moment is a burden of my heart to create space and content for women to live free and with hope. I found myself a bit hopeless and wanting in my early adulthood and family life. Graciously- God brought me such hope through beautiful people and His word. From there, I knew I couldn’t be alone and maybe sharing my heart-work would be encourage for other women to see themselves and powerfully valuable in their own lives. If they could see their own worth and value- they could look for hope between all moments of life. So- from despair- to a music project- and now so much more…there is hope to be found. My hope is that everyone would be empowered to pause and the move forward in life knowing that there is more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The struggles are the tapestry of any vision- they are apart of growing and building. I found challenges with personnel and pace. Just like anyone with a vision- I want it all now! It makes it even harder because I don’t just want it for myself. I want it for others. I’ve had to be grateful that this pace has allowed growth and building over the years. Likewise- there must be that that other people to grow my team will come and the organization will grow into so much more 🙂
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve been a musician for over 10 years and have enjoyed expressing my heart and passion for free life through music, poetry and prose. I’m so proud and grateful for my 2016 EP release Between the Moment. That project embodied a chapter of my life that I never thought I could put into words. Instead, I put it to music to bring hope to others. I was so honored to be apart of the call to bring light to the world. I’ve had the pleasure of being part of many projects and initiatives for hope- but none surpass the joy of walking with people in their lives to grow in freedom overall through Jesus love. This includes being apart of the founding team with The Brook Miami and currently serving on the executive team, developing the city tour for women to love themselves and their marriages with The Wives Chat events and blogs, plus many more ways of journeying with people to discover and look for hope.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve found that exploring your field with humility and confidence yields a great lens to find community and then from there- maybe there could be a mentor. No one can be you or tell you every single perfect step- but there are people you can glean from and hear from to build the vision for what you have. My encouragement is to lean in believing that you are not an imposter but a student of yourself people and the field/industry of choice.
