Meet Jordan Mcnutt of Lake Worth, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Mcnutt

Hi Jordan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first took a pottery class with my mom in 2022 for a fun girls’ day out. Don’t be fooled—I was far from a natural when I first started pottery. I struggled a lot and felt like an imposter in the beginning, unsure if I’d ever get the hang of it. But there was something so grounding about getting my hands dirty in the mud, working with clay from the earth, and shaping it into something beautiful. It quickly became my go-to therapeutic outlet, and soon after, my full-on passion.

Fast forward a year, and I had a pottery wheel in my home. Through intentional practice and building confidence, I launched my studio in 2023. Now, JMCeramics Studio LLC is Florida’s premier home pottery studio. We create handmade ceramics that are a mix of modern elegance, eclectic retro, and pure 70s grooviness. Whether you’re into sleek minimalism or fun, funky designs, our pieces are meant to elevate your home décor and reflect your unique vibe.

What I love most about pottery is the ability to “reclaim” every step of the process. Like us, clay is perfectly imperfect, constantly evolving. A piece may not turn out as planned, but it can be rethrown and repurposed, becoming its best version. This journey mirrors personal growth and makes the pottery experience so rewarding.

What truly sets JMCeramics Studio LLC apart? It’s the personality behind every piece. From our signature ‘Pretty Bums’ to our one-of-a-kind stoneware, everything at JMC is designed to bring joy and individuality to your space. It’s where creativity and craftsmanship collide in the grooviest way possible!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting JMCeramics Studio LLC has been anything but smooth, but the challenges have made the journey even more rewarding. The learning curve has been steep—not just in expanding my artistic style and skills, but also in mastering the business side of things. It felt like stepping into a whole new universe! I found myself buying books on legalities, studying marketing strategies, and even becoming my own social media content creator—something I never imagined I’d have to do.

Luckily, I had a secret weapon in my back pocket: my master’s degree in Strategic Communication from Michigan State University. I’d been waiting for the chance to put everything I learned into practice, but I never thought I’d be launching my own small business. Now, I’m using those principles in overdrive—whether it’s building my website, designing marketing materials, or creating content that connects with my gorgeous customers all over the world.

There’s been plenty of trial and error along the way, especially when it comes to art fairs. Some have been wildly successful, while others have shown me that not every event is the perfect match for my brand.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve always been a creative soul, art has always been my way of expressing myself and connecting to something deeper. But for the longest time, it was just a hobby, something I’d dip into when I had a specific idea in mind. That all changed when I found ceramics. It became the space where my physical creativity and love for design collided, allowing me to bring my visions to life in a way that felt both grounded and inspiring.

At JMCeramics Studio, I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, hand-thrown ceramics that combine mid-century modern, retro, eclectic, and 70s-inspired styles, all with a minimalist flair. My pieces blend clean lines with groovy, nostalgic vibes to create something timeless yet fresh.

One signature detail I’m known for is my ‘Pretty Bums.’ It’s a playful, cheeky touch that’s become a favorite among my customers. Each piece is designed with an unexpected, subtle design on the bottom, adding a fun, unexpected detail that brings personality to every piece. It’s all about embracing the quirky, perfectly imperfect aspects of life and art.

What sets JMCeramics apart is the heart and soul behind each creation. Whether it’s a retro-inspired vase or a mid-century modern bowl, I design each piece with intention—combining visual design skills with the craftsmanship of pottery. I’m most proud of the way my ceramics have connected with people all over the world. My work isn’t just about creating functional art; it’s about bringing joy and individuality into someone’s home. Each piece feels like a reflection of the customer who buys it, and that’s the true beauty of it.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m all about the collabs, babes! As a woman in small business, I love connecting with other creatives and entrepreneurs to lift each other up. Whether it’s teaming up for an Instagram collab giveaway, cross-promoting events, or just connecting potential customers, I’m always looking for ways to support and grow alongside like-minded brands. I truly believe in the power of community, and it’s important for me to collaborate with businesses that share similar values.

There are a few ways to support JMCeramics Studio LLC—following me on social media, tagging me in your photos, sharing my pieces with friends who might love my style, or even treating yourself (or a loved one) to a handmade piece. Every bit of love helps the business grow!

I also offer custom pieces, which is one of my favorite aspects of what I do! Whether it’s a custom Spider-Man pizza plate, personalized business mugs, or coasters, I love bringing unique ideas to life. If you or someone you know is looking for a special, one-of-a-kind gift, definitely send them my way! I’m always excited to create something meaningful and unique.
