Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Morales
Hi Daniel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Mérida, Venezuela, and moved to Puerto Ordaz at the age of 7, where my journey with music and technology truly began. These early interests guided many of my life decisions, ultimately leading me to leave Venezuela in 2014 to pursue a degree in Audio Visual Technologies at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. I graduated in 2016, and while this formal education gave me a solid foundation, most of what I know about music production, sound design, and business management has been self-taught through countless hours spent on YouTube and online resources.
I started my instrumental music project, Aurora Dream, in 2016 as an outlet to push the boundaries of guitar music and explore progressive, experimental soundscapes. Around this time, I also began to take my solo music project more seriously. Although it technically began when I was around 13-14, posting covers of bands like The Fall of Troy and Opeth on YouTube, it became a more professional endeavor after gaining deeper knowledge of music production and recording during and after university. Both projects have since evolved significantly, gaining recognition for their complexity, emotional depth, and innovative production techniques.
In 2021, I founded Zelvox, an Amazon-based business focused on e-commerce. Running Zelvox alongside my music career has allowed me to develop valuable skills in logistics, inventory management, marketing, and customer service. Balancing both ventures has been exciting, and Zelvox has steadily grown as an e-commerce venture.
Recently, I’ve been focusing heavily on growing both Zelvox and Aurora Dream as they continue to evolve into their next chapter. One of my latest accomplishments has been launching my personal website, www.danielweb.com, alongside the release of Aurora Dream’s music tabs for sale on www.auroradreammusic.com. I’m also excited to prepare for an upcoming Aurora Dream show in October in Miami.
Another key achievement has been securing an endorsement with SellerSnap, the most advanced AI-powered repricer for Amazon sellers, which has been incredible for my business Zelvox, and partnering with FM Guitars, founded by the internationally renowned guitarist Felix Martin, a fellow Venezuelan with whom I’ve collaborated on Aurora Dream.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road at all. The music industry is incredibly unforgiving and brutal, especially for independent musicians like myself. On the other hand, the world of entrepreneurship is equally challenging, and in many ways, even more complicated and difficult. Both paths demand a lot, but I’ve chosen to pursue them despite knowing the struggles involved because I understand that they also come with great long-term rewards if done right.
Music, however, has been a bit more bearable and less frustrating for me, despite the obstacles and the overwhelming uncertainty of not knowing what will happen with my musical projects. Today, it’s clear that the industry is more about numbers on social media, connections, and networking than talent alone, which is something I’ve had to accept. I’ve learned to navigate this new reality and do the best I can based on how the music world functions now. What makes music less daunting than entrepreneurship is that it comes from a deeply personal place for me. It’s something I’ve done since I can remember, simply because I want to share my art with the world. Creating music gives me a sense of joy and fulfillment that goes beyond goals, money, or fame. It’s something I need to stay true to myself, a genuine and profound purpose that keeps me grounded.
That’s not to say that entrepreneurship isn’t something I enjoy or find meaningful, but it’s a path I discovered much later in life, as an adult. It came from realizing that I didn’t want to be tied to a 9-to-5 job working for someone else. I wanted to create something independent that would give me more financial freedom and, more importantly, more time to focus on music and other personal projects. While the road is challenging, I enjoy the work I do on Amazon because it allows me to apply skills I’ve developed, like system automation and artificial intelligence. These might seem complex to some, but I love employing them to gain a competitive edge and work more efficiently towards my goals.
However, both paths—music and entrepreneurship—are solitary journeys. They require immense mental strength, persistence, self-belief, and the willingness to break through limiting mindsets. I’ve had to reprogram many of my own self-beliefs to move forward and adopt new ones that help me grow, even in the face of internal and external obstacles.
In the end, I believe that anything truly worthwhile requires effort, sacrifice, stepping out of your comfort zone, and even enduring some hardship. None of this is negative, as long as it’s for a good cause and part of your personal evolution or the pursuit of your dreams. The key is to find those things that are worth the sacrifice because what you achieve on the other side is so rewarding and positive that it far outweighs the temporary discomfort you had to endure to get there.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My artistic work revolves around music and creative expression, primarily as a guitarist and composer. I’m best known for founding Aurora Dream, an instrumental music project that blends progressive rock, math rock, and experimental sounds. My solo music project allows me to explore even more genres and ideas, drawing inspiration from bands like The Fall of Troy, Opeth, and Dream Theater. I’m most proud of my ability to create music that resonates emotionally with listeners while pushing creative boundaries.
What sets me apart is my dedication to combining technical proficiency with emotional depth in my compositions. Through Aurora Dream, I’ve had the honor of collaborating with incredibly talented musicians such as Tim Henson (Polyphia), Nick Johnston, Javier Reyes (Animals as Leaders), Sithu Aye, Angel Vivaldi, Ichika Nito, Mark Holcomb (Periphery), Felix Martin, and Josh Martin (Little Tybee). These collaborations have elevated the project, allowing me to blend unique styles and techniques into my work.
One of my proudest achievements is releasing the RUBIX album, which features these prominent guitarists in the modern scene. I’m also known for my intricate guitar work and innovative production techniques, which have helped Aurora Dream stand out in the instrumental music landscape.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
In terms of music, I believe I’ve been fortunate to connect with influential people, especially during trips to events like NAMM in California. However, I see luck as something that only works when combined with personal conviction, intention, and belief in what you’re doing. It’s challenging, but crucial, to seize those moments of “luck” when they come.
In business, I’m lucky to be the type of person who prepares for the worst but doesn’t get stuck in analysis paralysis. I think through decisions carefully but still take action. I’ve learned to trust my instincts, seek advice from those more experienced, and view obstacles as opportunities to grow. I embrace this mindset, as it’s helped me make fewer mistakes while staying open to learning from those I do make, turning them into valuable lessons.
