Today we’d like to introduce you to Svetlana Kruglova
Hi Svetlana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After successfully executing my son’s birthday party we ( me and my boyfriend Arnold at that time) got inspiration to build an event decor business. The beginning of it was quite tough as the kids birthdays business had a lot of competition with amazing vendors and we were very new with no experience, just the love to create beautiful things. After a few months, when I was looking for an idea for a romantic date for us, I came across beach picnics service, and got inspired by it. We decided to take the idea to the new level offering more exquisite decor, adding more services to the beach picnic experience and making each celebration unique. We attracted all of our clients through social media who loved our pictures and videos and trusted us with their special days, small and big. After a while we got our first request for a beach wedding and that was the “it” moment for us . We fell in love with that feeling of becoming a part of other people’s love story and organising the most special day of their lives. It all came together , our previos work experience with events & weddings, our love for romance and our creativity. We put together so many successful weddings and clients saw our portfolio and trusted us to plan and execute bigger weddings at more & more gorgeous venues. We now are a full service wedding planning agency offering anything from decor, rentals to entertainment and photo & video services. In the meantime me & Arnold ourselves got engaged and are planning a beautiful boutique wedding this December.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have been blessed with continuous growth and our clients’ trust . Of course as any new small business we have the stress of “slow season” but our combined 15+ years of experience in events , entrepreneurship, weddings and tourism helps us navigate the rough seas. My last position at a corporation was marketing manager where I learned to manage multiple marketing channels and employ different strategies to attract new leads. With Arnold’s experience as a business owner I think we make a great team.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We started as an event decor company but recently rebranded into a full services wedding planning agency. Our mission is to close the gap between an affordable wedding and gorgeous unique aesthetics and design that reflects our clients’ personality and offers unforgettable guests’ experience. We are very friendly and approachable, we are multicultural, we speak several languages, we are very good at working with clients from different backgrounds and forging meaningful connections with them to the point that many become friends after the events and continue to follow our journey and support us. We are big enough to execute any vision but small enough to care about every detail.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I love @bossy-show for entrepreneurship motivation and The Daily Motivation with Lewis Howes. When it comes to business advice we are fortunate to have a few friends who are business owners and always offer great advice . And when there is an issue at hand I need to learn about I am very good at research. Also we are always learning, attending classes and work shops to stay on top of trends especially in the wedding industry.
