Hi Catherine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Yes! My background in Sexology opened my eyes to a deep-rooted issue: women rarely have spaces where they truly feel safe and uplifted. We’re constantly pressured to conform to societal standards, when we should be owning our power unapologetically. My own journey began with a transformative semi-nude photoshoot with renowned photographer Guy Raymond, and I instantly fell in love with the concept. Inspired, I opened our first studio in Toronto in 2017 with one goal: to create a sanctuary where women could embrace their bodies and celebrate what makes them unique. Photography, to me, is more than just capturing moments—it’s a therapeutic process that can reshape how a woman sees herself. Seven years and over 70,000 empowered guests later, with studios across Canada and the US, our journey has just begun.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, there have been challenges along the way. Entrepreneurship is a constant learning curve, and looking back, there are many things I would have done differently. But it’s those very mistakes that have propelled us forward. The pandemic, in particular, was a tough hurdle, but it pushed us to completely reinvent ourselves and strengthen the way we connect with our guests. Every challenge has been a catalyst for growth, shaping who we are today.
We’ve been impressed with Nuovo Artistic Photography, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’ve recently been all about the colour green. I’m an Aquarius, and I love the thrill of the unexpected. I’m the kind of person who craves either complete solitude or lively parties, with no middle ground. I’ve also teamed up with one of my amazing employees, Tina, to create my own Tarot card deck!
