Today we’d like to introduce you to Albernisha Blackman
Hi Albernisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started cooking when I was about 11 years old, before my grandmother passed away from Lupus she gave me the gems of cooking. No measuring cups just the old fashion way. Since then, I’ve always enjoyed cooking…especially soul food it’s my favorite thing to make.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting off, it was actually great for me! I lived in Miami growing up but then I moved to Atlanta, once things didn’t work out there I decided to move back and chase my dreams of cooking. I figured I had so much support back home and so many people requested that I come back. So many people believed in me and they actually showed me that. I believe this is what God wanted me to do, and it just took for me to go through some things to actually see the plans that he has laid out for me. Cooking is therapy for me it’s my passion. I had soooo much support with my first dinner sale then I went on to start taking private caterings, so far I have been blessed beyond measures.
We’ve been impressed with Ablashaecooks, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in catering. I’m known for my famous seafood rice. I’m proud of the fact that I followed my dreams to even venture off and start cooking for others. I’m currently working on a cookbook because sooo many people have been asking.
