Adam, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We have a wonderful 3 year old son. As first time parents, we were probably stressed to get everything right and against our instinct, we followed doctor’s orders to wake him up every 2.5 hrs to feed. We believe this led to tremendous sleep disturbances and essentially programmed him to wake up frequently. For over 2 years we tried everything. This included 2 different sleep coaches who’s techniques did absolutely nothing for him. Then we found a sleep program that was incredibly extensive. It included a specialized sleep sack, lighting, protocols over several months to ween him off the need to have his parents next to him for going to sleep and staying asleep. The program was almost as exhausting as not getting good sleep in the first place. We practically gave up.
Then I was at my local kid’s park talking to a friend and previous coworker of mine. He said his wife Shani was a sleep coach. My internal dialogue told me to avoid asking any questions about sleep but the desperate parent in me needed some peace. So we introduced ourselves to Shani and immediately we clicked. She understood our troubles but more importantly, she described the issues as all psychological. It made perfect sense to simply treat our son as an equal and explain the situation to him as we do with everything else in life.
Within a few days we noticed his sleep improved. A few weeks passed and we were actually getting sleep ourselves now. Our son was way happier and healthier, less prone to illness. 2 years of no sleep feels like a never-ending dream. Now after working with Shani for several months, our son sleeps through the night. Falls asleep around 8/8:30pm and wakes up between 6-7am. Basically 10 hours of quality sleep. Once in a while he wakes up early or has a nightmare but I’m already awake for the day. I simply go in, reassure him everything’s ok and walk back out. He falls back asleep like nothing ever happened.
The work Shani does can only be described and a godsend to parents who are lacking sleep. We already started working with Shani again for our newborn and the 2nd time around is a breeze.
We recommend always following your instincts and trusting your child’s innate intelligence. Shani teaches you to work with them and that you don’t need a million outside factors to get your child to sleep.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I am an entrepreneur and primarily in the supplement industry. I get to work from home with my wife which allows us to be with our children and homeschool when the time comes. We also have a farm and already started teaching our kids about the value of hard work, living on the land and in sync with nature and the environment. Knowing where your food comes from and having an endless respect for the plants and animals that provide us sustenance is a foundational belief of ours.

I spoke about it already in the first answer but it’s beyond a game changer. As a business owner, I am reliant on myself to provide for our family. I need to be sharp for my clients and must have the vital energy of quality sleep to perform at my highest. Lack of sleep for extended periods of time is like torture. Getting your sleep back gives you a deep sense of freedom and purpose, appreciation for life again.
