Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Negron
Hi Amanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Amanda Negron, and I’m a proud Florida native, born and raised in Spring Hill. I pursued my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, earning a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Disabilities in Society. My passion for helping others led me to continue my education, and I completed a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2019. I’ve been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist ever since.
I’ve always been an avid reader, particularly of Robert Kiyosaki’s books on real estate. This ongoing interest, combined with my husband and I planning to settle down in Florida, motivated me to obtain my Florida real estate license in 2021.
After living in Atlanta, Georgia for three years and Rochester, Minnesota for one year – while my husband completed his PM&R residency at Emory and a sports medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic – we moved back to Florida in 2023. Initially, I worked as a referral real estate agent, but as I settled into life in Fort Lauderdale, I gradually transitioned to being a full-time agent with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Florida 1st.
Whether in speech-language pathology or real estate, my focus has always been on making a positive impact in people’s lives, which continues to drive me every day. From healthcare to home care: where compassion meets real estate.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many others who take on a career transition, I encountered my share of bumps along the way.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was juggling two demanding careers simultaneously. As a practicing speech-language pathologist, I was deeply committed to my work in healthcare, but my passion for real estate was growing stronger. Managing both roles required a great deal of time management and discipline, especially as I started to build my presence in the real estate market. It was a delicate balance, but it taught me the importance of perseverance and focus.
My journey involved several significant moves, from Florida to Atlanta, Georgia, then to Rochester, Minnesota, before finally returning home to Florida. Each relocation presented its own set of challenges. Moving to a new city meant not only adapting to a different environment but also rebuilding my network from scratch. It wasn’t easy to start over multiple times, but it allowed me to develop resilience and adaptability, which have been invaluable in my real estate career.
Despite my established career in speech-language pathology, transitioning into real estate was like starting from square one. The real estate industry is incredibly competitive, and it took time to learn the intricacies of the market, build a client base, and establish my reputation. There were moments of doubt, but my passion for helping people find their dream homes kept me motivated. Overcoming these challenges has made my journey in real estate all the more rewarding.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the value of adaptability and continuous learning. Each relocation and career shift taught me that the ability to adapt to new environments and challenges is essential.
