Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahim Shabazz
Hi Rahim, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ever since I was young I enjoyed watching my family cook. I grew up in a house full of cousins in the heart of north Miami. At the young age of 5 I was already in the kitchen being supervised by my late aunt whom I learned most of my talent from. As I grew up cooking became therapeutic for me… especially being a picky eater I’ve been big on presentation because people like me eat with ours eyes first. Fast forward to covid I was trapped in the house so I decided to finally start my cooking page on Instagram… I only posted cooked and plate my food on white glass plates that’s how I came up with the name “the whiteplate” I soon after began catering and now got in to creating food content and recipes which took off instantly with videos reaching over 10 million views! So today I am now partnering and have contracts in place with major companies for sponsorships and will continue to grow.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Cooking I feel was something that came to me naturally… major struggles along the way id say we’re only me being inconsistent. I feel I’d be a lot further with my brand if I locked in from way back.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently I still manage a job in sales and have a few other sources of passive income… what I am most proud of is creating my brand “the whiteplate” only because i feel it comes to me naturally. What separates me most from others I feel is the presentation of my brand and the environment I create to make others laugh and want to cook as well…
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
