Life & Work with Luis Sanabria from Mind Body Social

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Sanabria

Hi Luis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been fortunate that my work life has always been driven by personal motivation. Despite interests and lifestyle changes throughout the years, one major constant has remained: a passion for bringing exciting experiences to people.

My first jobs were in different areas of live entertainment, from setting up stages and sound to distributing flyers. It eventually evolved into public relations, marketing, booking, and overall concert production, working with world-class acts such as The Eagles in Russia in 2001 and tours alongside industry leaders AEG Live and Livenation.

In 2003, I took a significant step in my career by founding my first company. Initially, we produced a few club shows per year and collaborated with local clients on experiential marketing activations. Over time, our client base expanded to include global consumer brands, the artists we worked with became household names, and our operations grew to a national scale.

After starting a family, I no longer enjoyed the constant traveling, late nights, and concert touring / backstage life as much (although that’s not always as sexy and glamorous as in the movies). In addition, I received some alerts from the doctor regarding potential health issues.

Driven by personal motivation once again and combining that knowledge in live events production and experiential marketing, I co-founded Mind Body Social with Jose Antonio Hernandez in 2017 with the mission to build community through fun experiences that inspire wellness and joy.

The journey has been so inspiring! From our clients to the instructors and each member of our team, all pieces have helped us bring our mission to life every day, grow organically and exponentially, and reach tens of thousands of people in the entire state of Florida and areas of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been smooth, but the objective has always been clear, and event participants constantly motivate us to continue in the right direction.

Covid was a major challenge. We couldn’t bring people together when it was needed the most, but it pushed us to kick off in 48 hrs, a digital and virtual strategy we had in our plans for two years down the road.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We create wellness events for everyone. Our goal is to motivate people to have fun while moving, connect with others, and discover new fitness and wellness modalities they didn’t know they could enjoy.

Since all our events are free to the public, our revenue source is sponsorships. We integrate brands and their products into our experiences in organic and authentic ways.

We’ve been lucky and honored to collaborate with key partners such as Ikea, T-Mobile, Michelob Ultra, The Related Group, and Bodyarmor, among many others. We’ve also been strategically growing two key partnerships for over five years, with Publix and Baptist Health.

For Publix, we were responsible for the Florida Panthers sponsorship activation in the last Stanley Cup-championship winning season, as well as community programs in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Virginia, and more. Among other projects, we will also execute the Ultimate Tailgate Party for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the upcoming season.

For Baptist Health, we are producing a series of Fit Festivals in key locations across South Florida, including Zoo Miami, the Miami Dolphins training facility at Hard Rock Stadium, and a Men’s Health Summit alongside the Miami Heat, among other events.

In addition, we produce private corporate events, influencer marketing and experiential marketing initiatives, always connected to wellness or community-building.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We are always open to collaborating with new instructors or studios, and invite them to participate in some of our events.

It always feels great to see new faces participating in our events, as well as to see regulars bring new friends or share their stories with us on social media.

We also love to expand our series to new venues or territories and collaborate with new sponsors who have an authentic story to tell.
