Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into content creation started “just for fun,” much like many people who have been active on social media for over a decade. Initially, it was a hobby, a way to share moments and connect with others online. I studied International Business in college and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, which laid a strong foundation for my entrepreneurial ventures.
As my entrepreneurial journey evolved, particularly with co-owning a roofing company with my husband, I saw an opportunity to blend my business acumen with my passion for content creation. This led me to pursue User Generated Content (UGC) more seriously. I began creating compelling videos for other brands, similar to what I had been doing on my personal page, [SAMJHOBBS].
One of the most rewarding aspects of creating UGC is seeing the tangible impact it has on brands. I’ve been able to help many brands reach hundreds of thousands of customers through engaging and authentic content.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not always smooth. My husband and I immigrated from Canada and have worked extremely hard to create everything we have from scratch. No handouts. It’s a difficult, but really rewarding process.

Starting anything, whether it’s content creation or any business, is hard. Momentum takes times. I’m nowhere where I want to be right now as the bar is set very high. I would say : try, try, try. Keep going. Believe in yourself. Be critical of yourself even when things are going right. Be open to learn from someone who has what you want. Don’t listen to people who don’t live the life you want.
