Hi Fulya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
With ten years in industry leadership, I blended six years as a designer with four years as a USA compliance solutions consultant, which led me to start my consultancy business, New Design Lab. Co. Recognized for innovation, I earned the Senior Thesis Collection Award at the Fashion Institute of Technology for pioneering sustainable luxury pattern making. My leadership at Jaiyou, my medical device company, secured the Health 2.0 Conference’s accolade. Further, my business model/company garnered a prestigious fellowship from the Parsons School of Design Entrepreneur Lab (Parsons Elab). Notably, I was named one of the most influential figures by Gladys Magazine, solidifying the impact on both the fashion and healthcare sectors and establishing my credibility and authority. I am an advisor and mentor at Parsons School of Design, where I share my experience with fresh graduates who aspire to be entrepreneurs.
My academic journey includes a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Master of Science in Strategic Design and Management. Complementing these qualifications, I’ve pursued additional leadership, business management, and creativity courses. This continuous learning has equipped me with the expertise to identify market trends and help businesses position themselves for success. My passion for helping entrepreneurs and enterprises stems from my personal experiences of facing challenges in a rapidly changing market, which led me to start my strategic business design agency, New Design Lab.

Being an entrepreneur is like driving on a bumpy road, so buckle up and get it going! It takes a lot of work to build everything from scratch; it takes a village to run a business! Finding your niche and creating a sustainable process is the most challenging part. But with a solid plan and execution strategy, you can navigate these challenges with confidence and continuous motivation to move forward no matter what happens. So, being aware of that helps you prepare mentally and physically.
