Daily Inspiration: Meet Archie White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Archie White

Hi Archie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began a creative career, first as a musician (pop/R&B/hip-hop for youth), when I was 9 years old. This was 2009, following the divorce of my parents, so I was living with and managed by my father at the time (who I also share the same name as.) We owned a home in Bolivar, a small town in west Tennessee. However, we did go through some hard times and experienced a robbery (while we were not home) and those suspects did burn that house down. My father used all the resources he had to push my career and voice; I can recall doing several shows out of state in places such as Ohio, Georgia, and most notably, Fort Lauderdale Florida. This is around the time I met Tre Marshall, one of my best friends (who at the time was living in Greenacres.) Sometime after building such a bond with him, he visited often me at my Mother’s home in Tennessee for summer break, we would record all sorts of tracks to upload on SoundCloud (with the help of my brother, Calvin Frazier, who is also a beatmaker and producer.) This was around 2012. Since I was young and managed by my father, I have experienced what real on-foot work is like being independent doing things such as radio interviews, studio sessions with voice coaches, creating physical copies of CDs including sleeves and cover art, uploading to EVERY platform there was, creating merch for promotion, even dancing classes. In 2014, I ended up moving out of his home, but I never lost my passion for creativity. With the help of new friends I made, like Tre, who introduced me to more creatives like myself, we were able to form an independent entertainment media group (known at the time as “#YRTS”, but today as “LMT, or “Limitless Media Team.”) In high school, my main objective was to push my music to everyone, and I did; the only way I knew how. Physical Disk copies, creative artwork, but with this time adding shock value and promotion. Also, I focused on assembling a group of even more artists with talent and a winning mindset. This included more close friends that live north of Miami, such as Hunter Teague (Hunt), Tristan Woods (Ruthle$$), and Tyler Wildermuth (Trvp Zer0.) Fast forwarding; Together, we learned how to effectively increase our reach and fanbase as a collective by displaying true teamwork and holding each other responsible for certain duties such as networking, merch sources/designing, distribution, producing/engineering, cover art designing, social media promotion, mini songwriting camps, scheduling content/releases, holding open studio/video sessions for other independent artists, and booking showcases. I am now living as an unsigned artist; However, I have received several offers, but none that have made me reconsider not being independent, at least 😉 In the last recent 6 months, I have traveled to Denver CO, San Diego CA, Las Vegas NV, New York NY, Chicago IL, Austin TX, and all around Florida. I have very close associates in Biscayne, so I’m there like its another home; However, our business lies in the heart of west Tennessee, in little Jackson, which is a larger yet smaller town beside Memphis- a place where we meet so many new artists! Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Many! Beginning with the arson of my childhood home, to another robbery of a home I lived in after that- it was a bad neighborhood and town where we lived. This was the reason for me finally moving, despite the love I had for my father. He was a very hard worker, and though he was often busy during the day, he still made room for my music career with any spare time he had. I was so young, I couldn’t even tell you how he was able to network some of those deals and shows. Maybe it was the people he knew. But I can remember performing for a whole school in Fort Lauderdale FL, and that must have took true skill from where we came in Tennessee. I have risked my all for several shows, even when I had no money at all. I recall flying to New York and facing 100+ rappers in a showcase competition for a cash prize and a record label meeting with Republic Records. Staying up all night to record the tracks I would perform, and staying up all night again due to the amount of participants in the show and on account of our flight leaving at 5 that morning. I did win that show, however, I never received my record label meeting like the 1st and 2nd place winners, though this was promised. It may not seem like much, but artists/creatives often go through trials and tribulations which can lead to major disappointment and discouragement. I dealt with a lack of inspiration, no motivation, and even no drive. At the time, I was still mostly solo but trying to build a name for myself. It finally took understanding my selfishness for not noticing the closest friends I had also contained so much talent in them. We learned to take responsibility for duties, critique yet push each other, and work as a unit to build a name for our whole team, LMT. We soon understood what it took to win; 5 sticks will be harder to break than 1.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known for my music and art designs mostly on social media, but not to those who know me personally as Archie. I also work a full-time job in the office as a Mental Health Counselor creating Treatment Plans for youth in state custody at Encare LLC. This company is a family run by my Mother, Father, Uncle, and Grandfather. It is refreshing to observe my mother and father be able to work as a unit in business even after experiencing a divorce. I truly have a genuine heart and drive to help others. I enjoy seeing my friends succeed, and those who I love. If I want something done, I will not stop until that goal is achieved. I believe anyone can be whatever they want if they absolutely try.
