Lara , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Lara Nguyen, also known as Yung Nguyen. Ten years ago, I embarked on a journey from Vietnam to the USA, leaving behind a blossoming career in styling for TV commercials and global magazines. Despite my success, I knew there was more out there for me.
I landed in San Jose, California, and spent the first five years working multiple jobs just to stay afloat. During this time, I constantly pondered which career path would enable me to be my own boss and live comfortably without a massive investment. Eventually, I took a leap of faith, investing all my tip money and maxing out my credit card to pay for a lash course.
Once certified, I hustled tirelessly, moving from one salon to another and even providing home visits to clients. By night, I worked in bars, restaurants, and casinos, often until 2 or 3 AM. Many nights, I returned home with tears in my eyes, questioning why I was still struggling and feeling so isolated. Yet, I held onto my mantra: “happy go lucky.”
In 2019, I made a pivotal decision to move to Florida. Using the last of my funds, I rented a small spot in downtown Cape Coral. I dedicated all my energy and faith to perfecting my lash skills and leveraging the expertise I had accumulated over the years. Through relentless hard work and determination, I eventually established two successful locations in Cape Coral and Fort Lauderdale. Today, I am proud to help numerous students achieve their dreams.
Throughout this journey, I witnessed the struggles faced by many lash artists. This inspired me to launch a new venture aimed at helping them elevate their careers and revisit the fashion industry with renewed vigor.
I firmly believe that with faith and self-belief, you can reach any destination you aspire to. It’s not merely about achieving the goal; it’s about the person you become and the experiences you gain along the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the lash industry, it has indeed been challenging to maintain excellent retention and speed while still delivering the best-looking sets. Additionally, finding and retaining clients has been a constant struggle.

Thank you for your interest in my work. I am a lash artist and the founder of Magnificent Lash Art, with locations in Cape Coral and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I specialize in creating bespoke lash looks tailored to each individual’s features and preferences. My unique approach involves avoiding standard lash mapping and instead following the natural lash growth and facial features to craft a look that is both natural and stunning.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my commitment to high-quality lashes, exceptional skill, and a personalized experience for each client. Every new set or infill offers a different look, ensuring that no two lash sets are the same. This level of customization has become a hallmark of my work, attracting busy, successful women who value their time and appreciate the artistry involved.
I am most proud of the success I’ve built from the ground up, especially considering the struggles I faced in the beginning. Moving to the USA alone, working multiple jobs, and investing everything I had into lash training were all challenging, but they taught me resilience and perseverance. Today, I not only run successful lash studios but also help aspiring lash artists achieve their dreams through comprehensive training that emphasizes integrity, patience, and skill.
My journey has also inspired me to start a new venture aimed at helping other lash artists overcome their struggles and elevate their careers. This initiative, along with my work in the fashion industry, continues to drive me and keep my passion for beauty and artistry alive.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me truly happy is the act of creation and the ability to make a positive impact on others’ lives. Seeing a client’s face light up when they see their new lashes is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about the beauty I create; it’s about the confidence and joy it brings to my clients. Knowing that my work can make someone feel more beautiful and self-assured is a powerful motivator.
I also find immense happiness in helping aspiring lash artists achieve their dreams. Watching my students grow, develop their skills, and succeed in their own careers brings me great fulfillment. Their successes feel like my own, and I’m proud to play a part in their journeys.
Moreover, the creative freedom I have in my work keeps me excited and passionate. Every day is a new opportunity to innovate and personalize my art, which makes the process continually engaging and enjoyable. The combination of creativity, connection with clients, and the ability to mentor others is what truly makes me happy.
