HdA Architects was founded by Helena Hung and Alex De Angelis, who share a passion for architecture and design, coupled with a meticulous eye for detail. Their journey began at an internationally acclaimed corporate architecture firm, where they were united by a profound appreciation for design’s power to transform spaces and elevate the human experience. Recognizing their unique combination of creative flair and precision, they laid the foundation for HdA Architects, where creativity and meticulousness harmonize to redefine luxury in the architectural world.
Alex De Angelis, the company’s design principal, holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and an MBA from EAE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. Helena Hung, the company’s production principal, holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in architecture from Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. They are the yin and yang of architecture, creating a dynamic working environment and pioneering forward-thinking projects. Helena has led the production of numerous renowned high-rise buildings in Miami, with unmatched experience in the luxury market, while Alex has spearheaded the design of many AIA award-winning projects across South Florida.
Their paths converged while working at the same firm, and their collaboration revealed their potential as a perfect team in creating meaningful spaces. “The last thing we wanted to do was keep working and creating the same project types you see all over Florida. We wanted to do something different, something unique,” reflects Helena Hung.
