Daily Inspiration: Meet Carolyn Lightcap

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Lightcap

Hi Carolyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I always new I wanted to be a photographer, but it wasn’t until a photographer friend asked me to assist at a wedding, I knew what I wanted do for the rest of my life. I soon built the business of my dreams in Palm Beach County, where I resided for 17 years until moving the business to Stuart Florida.

I have a background in art and design. I feel this is what helps me imagine the shot in my mind moments before it actually happens.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge throughout my photography career was keeping up with the latest trends in wedding photography. As professionals, we sometimes get stuck and what we know and do best. Without changing my style I have tried to evolve as well as prefect my trade, throughout the years.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am best known for my candid romantic shots of wedding couples. My work has been published in both the knot and Stuart Magazines. As a six-time recipient of “The Knots Best of Weddings” I was awarded into the “Knots Hall of a Fame”.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Stuart is the small town feel but yet still lots to do. Strolling downtown Stuart, hanging out at the beach or visiting one of the local coffee shops are just a few of my favorite things to do around town. The only thing I would like to see more of is art galleries.
