Daily Inspiration: Meet Jennifer Graham

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Graham.

Jennifer Graham

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I began my career working for a not-for-profit agency in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after I graduated with a bachelor’s in psychology.

After about a year of working with families, I knew if I wanted to help people more, I needed to focus on the families and their relationships. That led me to pursue a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.

I continued with the same agency for many years after, working with families and individuals providing counseling in homes. Eventually, my journey led me to private practice, where I work with couples and individuals. I love helping people be better versions of themselves and show up differently in all of their relationships.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey was not always a smooth one. In college, I struggled to decide on my major. I started with psychology and meandered through several options, including accounting.

During that time, I was also working in a law firm as a tax attorney. However, it was not as fulfilling as I thought it would be. I went back to my calling, psychology.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am presently honored to be part of a group practice, Coral Springs Counseling Center.

This affords me the opportunity to provide EMDR and couples counseling to couples and people in need of healing. I love working with people, and I’m thankful for the couples and individuals who have allowed me to be a piece of the puzzle for healing.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel determination played a large role in my success. Also the ability to be compassionate and create a non-judgmental environment for the people I work with.
