Today, we’d like to introduce you to Mark Murphy.
Hi Mark, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My trajectory is interesting. I started (and have my degree) in English literature, but after my sophomore year, I decided to become a doctor.
Once I entered medical school, I knew facial plastic surgery was what I would do for my career. From New Orleans at Tulane University to New York City at both Columbia and Cornell Universities to Palm Beach, it’s been a fantastic voyage.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
“Smooth” is not how I would describe building a practice in a state where the only people I knew were my wife and two sons.
Fortunately, I joined a great practice that enabled me to pursue my passion. I began, as many plastic surgeons do, as a primary reconstructive surgeon and have built a tremendous cosmetic practice.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a sole practitioner with an amazing staff of professionals who provide support and care to our patients.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am not a risk taker. When you do what I do, risks should be minimized as much as possible.
