Community Highlights: Meet Nicholas Falcone of NDM Hospitality

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Falcone. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Nicholas Falcone

He founded NDM Hospitality Services, LLC in 2011 with the vision of becoming a multi-faceted hospitality, real estate, and technology conglomerate. Since that time, Nick and the NDM Hospitality team have been changing the face of the real estate, travel, tech, and dining industries; creating new ways to manage real estate and take vacations, and bringing higher service standards to casual dining.

NDM Hospitality acquired the territorial rights to the Dade County BurgerFi franchise, which opened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2012. They became the chain’s first franchisee and a model for all those that came after; recognized as franchisee of the year, operator of the year, and leading the entire franchise in year-over-year sales growth.

In addition, NDM Hospitality became the leader of the BurgerFi marketing co-op and established many of the standard operating procedures used by BurgerFi franchisees across the world. Since then, the company has expanded its sector to include 6 more restaurants from Miami to Orlando.

In 2015, NDM Hospitality’s fastest-growing company, Rentyl Resorts, launched the first branded residential resort in the world. This new travel sector blends the comforts of a home with the experience of a resort under a consistent brand.

The company continues to grow, providing management services through Luxury Residential Resorts (LRR) for property owners within the branded residential resorts, and adding more brands to the Rentyl Resorts portfolio including Encore Resort at Reunion, Margaritaville Resort Orlando, The Bear’s Den Resort Orlando, Spectrum Resort Orlando, Islands of Islamorada, and Beachwalk.

Falcone developed partnerships with Marriott Homes & Villas®, The Walt Disney Travel Company®, Margaritaville, and the Jack Nicklaus Companies. In 2020, NDM Hospitality won four Telly Awards, including one Gold; a Davey Award; three w3 Awards; and a Platinum MarCom Award for its creative video marketing campaigns.

In addition, Margaritaville Resort Orlando received the coveted AAA Four Diamond designation, establishing the resort as part of a select group in North America. Encore Resort at Reunion and Margaritaville Resort Orlando earned Tripadvisor’s 2020 Travelers’ Choice winner and received three W3 awards for their video series Sunset 365, including Gold for General Video – Food & Beverage.

Falcone is leading the launch of Rentyl Homes, Rentyl Apartments, and Spire Loyalty, the first multi-industry loyalty program. NDM Hospitality is shaping the future of hospitality, with an established Culture built on mutual success with a “Win from Within” mantra.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing is ever a smooth road and with any venture in life there will be challenges. We’ve been blessed that we’ve had more victories than challenges and the roadblocks we’ve faced have only sharpened our focus and expertise.

Some examples of challenges relate to ever-changing political policies that affect our industry, changes in labor pools, partnership challenges, & economic related. We are big on focussing on what we can control and ensuring that when challenges do happen we are building a process to minimize or eliminate them from occurring again.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about NDM Hospitality?
Went into significant detail on the first question in regard to an overview of the organization. I personally focus and specialize in the spaces of people leadership/culture, marketing, business development, and finance.

What sets us apart from others is our unique approach to existing businesses and how we turn them into something fresh and new. For example, we are in the retail management business and we don’t call our centers retail centers.

The reason for this is that we felt that infusing entertainment into these centers and making them entertainment districts would change the perception of the experience you will receive. Each one of our centers is programmed annually with over 5 thousand live acts/events that bring the centers to life and create a unique identity.

What I’m most proud of with our brand is that team members have a place where they can accomplish mutual success. My proudest moments are when we can see the company achieving success and therefore see our team members grow and flourish to higher-level roles and compensation reflective of these successes.

One area that I would like to focus on for the readers to know is about Rentyl Resorts. We are changing the landscape of vacation home rentals with this business. Our brand is a combination of best practices and consumer experiences that you will see at a hotel/resort mixed with the spaciousness and togetherness you receive in a vacation home.

Imagine coming to a spacious home that is part of a resort and provides guests with amenities, professional service, brand standards & curated experiences. The goofy analogy I utilize is to imagine if Marriott and Airbnb had a baby, it would be Rentyl Resorts. This amazing combination provides a more trusted, experiential, and easy-to-find vacation home experience for travel consumers.

What’s just as intriguing is the business model this creates for developers. We help developers actively sell the resort home inventory and then homeowners put the homes back into the resort program. This allows developers to sell out resort home communities and make higher than normal returns on the sell-out while maintaining a hotel revenue stream on the backend.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always into sports and outdoors. I love anything that is challenging both physically and mentally. Some of my other favorite hobbies were video games, great movies, and being with friends and family.

When I was younger I would categorize myself as a little shy. I had many friends but was never the most outgoing person in the room. As I grew older I started to evolve into a more confident person and started to develop my leadership skills.
