Community Highlights: Meet Audrey de Vallois of The Parlour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audrey de Vallois.

Audrey de Vallois

Hi Audrey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started dabbling in waxing when I was about 16 because I went to a dual enrollment school for high school that offered a lot of freedom and free time so my friends and I would go to each other’s houses and wax our legs for fun. That sparked curiosity in me so I’d save my little money to buy all different kinds of waxes and started getting really good at it.

I also learned to thread from a friend at around the same time so I started practicing doing that as well. It was all just for fun and I went on to go to FIU and graduated with a degree in Communications for TV production and I also minored in film.

After graduation, I worked for a few months but decided to go to beauty school to get my license “just for fun”. I went on to work in a salon and it has really all snowballed from there. I decided to go back to school rather quickly because I discovered laser and was fascinated by it.

I opened The Parlour back in 2013 when I already had about 7 years of laser experience under my belt. The Parlour has grown little by little over the years. We moved to a new, larger location back in December and we are primed for even more growth now!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Business ownership is never a smooth road. I had never owned a business before so I have had some bumps along the way that I can say I’ve learned from. Finding a good team is the hardest part but we are finally in a great place with that!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a boutique medspa in Pinecrest. We focus first and foremost on the quality of treatments. We pride ourselves in really giving the best treatments possible so you get what you are paying for. For example, we do all of our laser hair removal with the top-rated machine in the industry and keep it maintained perfectly to ensure quality treatments.

We are known for our creative facials that incorporate relaxation and results together so you leave feeling relaxed and looking your best. I am proud of the reputation we have earned as a quality medspa with quality services and friendly staff. We offer everything from brow threading to laser treatments to injectables and weight loss solutions.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The clients really deserve the most credit because, without their loyalty, I couldn’t be where I am today. They are very supportive and encourage growth and new things. I also have an amazing staff who is reliable in maintaining quality treatments and caring for the clients.
