Inspiring Conversations with Kate Ferrer of Sacred Form

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kate Ferrer.

Kate Ferrer

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Sacred Form was created for our Plantation community when we felt the strong need for more studios offering traditional practices in yoga, pilates and qigong in our local area. Selecting the location was quite easy as we knew we wanted to be centrally located to both downtown Fort Lauderdale and the suburbs located out West. With our background in the field of interior design we knew we could easily turn any space into our vision for the studio. The instructors were all carefully selected and we currently have an incredible team of thirteen teachers. We are one of the only studios in the area where you will find traditional non-heated yoga, mat pilates, and qigong classes led by extremely knowledgeable and experienced instructors.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The studio has been open for several months, and we’ve received a wonderful response from the community! There are so many people looking for a yoga studio focusing on the meditative aspect of the practice, and that’s exactly what we’ve created. There luckily hasn’t been too big of a challenge that we couldn’t handle, but as with every new business there’s always the challenge of getting your name out there and getting locals to become aware of your new business!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
Sacred Form is a wellness studio in Plantation where modern fitness meets traditional practices. The studio is one of its kind, offering a wide variety of class types seven days a week. We are the only studio  where you can practice traditional yoga, mat pilates, taichi, and qigong all in one place, even all in one single day! The studio was founded with the goal of providing more traditional classes that keep the focus on the breath and proper alignment of the body in a beautifully designed space without distracting mirrors or added heat.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Never let fear prevent you from trying something new or taking a chance on a new direction. Taking a risk usually means there’s something you’re willing to sacrifice to reach your goal. Facing this difficulty and going for it anyway will help you grow and evolve in life. Continue taking steps toward your goal regardless of whether each step brings you there immediately, or takes you in a different direction first. You’re always getting closer to your ideal reality by taking one step at a time on a challenging new path. If you find that there’s a lot on the line to lose, there’s a lot to potentially gain as well.
