Conversations with Ester Toledano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ester Toledano.

Esther Toledano

Hi Ester, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you. My name is Esther, and I have been a resident of South Florida for the past 23 years. I am married and proud mother of five beautiful kids, I’m the founder of Ashira Jewish Women’s Center, an organization dedicated to empowering and supporting women of all ages, statuses, cultures, backgrounds, and religious levels. Filled with a deep sense of empathy and a desire to make a difference, I realized that many women everywhere had a need and yearned for a safe space where they could find support, solace, strength, and the tools to thrive. With this revelation, I set out to create something truly remarkable.

Our center offers a variety of services, workshops, and events to empower educate and support women and girls who are seeking ways to overcome challenges and conflicts within their lives by establishing a welcoming environment while providing resources, activities, and events that will focus on empowering their individual journey within the stages of marriage, childbirth, postpartum depression, adolescence family dynamics, career, self-care, wellness and nutrition, as well as, those who are seeking to enhance their overall spiritual quality of life to make meaningful connections with other women throughout the community.

Our goal is to provide a platform for professional and personal growth for all AJWC members and those in our local community. We welcome anyone interested in joining us on this journey. My vision went beyond mere assistance; I aimed to provide holistic support, addressing the financial, emotional, and spiritual needs of every woman who walked through the organization’s doors.

Today, the organization stands as a testament to the power of compassion and the ripple effect of my determination to make a difference. Countless lives have been touched, transformed, and uplifted.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I must confess that it wasn’t always a smooth journey since helping others always requires resources, but luckily I had a lot of help and support from my wonderful family, dear friends, and mostly from our dedicated volunteers and community members who care, support, share the love, and mission.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
My advice to whoever is interested in a similar journey: “Never be intimated by the task, always ask and or look for resources and help but mostly, never give up!
