Community Highlights: Meet Patricia Chin of The Healthy Home

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Chin.

Patricia Chin

Patricia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My first entry into entrepreneurship started with a bubble tea and coffee pop-up and catering business 10 years ago. We participate in the Parkland Farmers Market and various events in Sunrise, Weston, and Fort Lauderdale throughout the year. Last year, we rebranded to AWA Drinks Company, previously known as Simply Perfect Java.

Six years ago, I found some amazing products that can help us create a healthy and thriving home environment. With my background in operations and technology, I translated both into my calling for clean living in establishing The Healthy Home. By creating a process to educate and evaluate what people have in their homes, I show them alternatives that are available to help them achieve the same.

The important thing is for them to understand what is harmful to them and to help them make a change, whether it is with the products I recommend or with similar alternatives. The products I recommend are the ones I have researched and use in my own home.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With my business and operations background, it wasn’t difficult to set up the framework. Since I was working a full-time job, I had to make sure I scheduled time to work on my business, so I had weekly planning meetings with accountability partners.

The hardest part for me was to step out of my comfort zone to speak up and share my knowledge and products. Even though I did vendor events, and spoke one-on-one with customers, I had to push myself to sign up for speaking engagements and podcasts that would make me more visible.

It is also important to remember that you don’t have to be perfect at everything. Even though I don’t like to do videos for social media, I’ve still been able to grow my business despite that. It’s okay to focus on your strengths and to delegate the things that you don’t enjoy.

I am now a seasoned speaker and enjoy discussing the benefits of holistic, healthy living in person, virtually, and via podcast. I am available for individual consultations as well as broader engagements. I am an active member of Business Network International (BNI), the Holistic Chamber of Commerce (HCC) – Fort Lauderdale East, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and the Women’s Prosperity Network (WPN).

As you know, we’re big fans of The Healthy Home. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At The Healthy Home, I meet with clients to discuss their needs and from there, we determine how we work together. Whether we do a full home assessment and create an implementation plan, or create a customized solution for their specific need, I introduce them to alternative choices that positively impact their health, well-being, and the environment.

Whether it’s the cleaning products for our homes, personal care items, the water we consume and use for bathing, the air we breathe, the quality of our sleep, or the daily discomforts we experience, I wanted to highlight the existence of safer and healthier options.

I have researched the safest, environmentally sound products and enjoy sharing my knowledge and educating clients on making simple changes toward creating healthier homes. Most people do not realize that many of the products in their homes are toxic; the average household, in fact, contains over 62 poisonous chemicals. I have partnered with Norwex and Nikken product lines which offer eco-friendly products, safe for the entire family.

Norwex is recognized for its environmentally friendly cleaning products, utilizing cutting-edge microfiber technology to clean surfaces using only water, thus minimizing the use of harmful chemicals. Nikken provides a diverse range of wellness products, including magnetic insoles, sleep systems, and air and water filtration systems. These products are designed to enhance circulation, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality. Additionally, Nikken offers an organic line of nutritional supplements.

I take the time to understand each client’s unique needs, identifying what area(s) the client wants to address via a comprehensive checklist and ultimately creating an individualized plan. I also provide information to clients on natural products that can support their goals. I specialize in combining daily living with tangible lessons and products. I love to give people the tools they need to create a clean, serene environment and a fresh start for their family’s wellness journey.

My passion is to provide my clients with access to the highest quality, most affordable, and most effective ways to not only meet their current needs but also contribute to creating a healthier and more comfortable living environment. So, whenever I get the chance to speak and share my knowledge, it fuels my passion.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Creating this business has been exciting and eye-opening for me at the same time. I did not intentionally seek out these types of products but as I found them, I tried them with an open mind, and it led me to the path I am on. I was inspired to start my business after learning about the dangers of toxic chemicals in the home.

It is important for me to provide personalized service and individualized plans to help people achieve their goals and create healthier homes. These products have helped people improve their health and well-being. Some of the people I have met along the way have become good friends.
