Today, we’d like to introduce you to Irene Díaz.
Hi Irene, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Barcelona, Spain. There, I graduated in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). And there, I began my professional career. After an internship at Spanish Television (Tv1), I worked in different media where we could highlight my time as a collaborator of the program “Tot Barca” on Barça TV and my role as producer and announcer on the radio morning show from Europa FM “Levántate y Cárdenas” (third most listened to radio program in Spain at that time 2012-2015).
In 2017, I arrived in the United States and started working as an entertainment reporter at América Tevé, which is located in Miami. Throughout this time I have attended important events such as the 2020 Super Bowl or Leo Messi’s presentation at Inter Miami and I have interviewed great artists such as Nicolas Cage, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Chayanne, Eva Longoria, Nicky Jam, Carlos Vives, Silvestre Dangond, Paulina Rubio, John Leguizamo, Maggie Q, Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz, Pimpinela, CNCO, Ha*Ash, Marco Antonio Solis, Ricardo Montaner, Dj Khaled, Gente de Zona, Chyno y Nacho, Soda Stereo, Yotuel, Beatriz Luengo, Rosario Flores, Lolita Flores, Melendi, Rozalen, Julio Iglesias Jr., Paco León, Vanessa Martin, Aitana or Joaquín Cortes, among others.
I currently cover all entertainment news for the network’s three newscasts: 4 pm, 7 pm, and 10 pm (ET). For the interviews, reports, and special series carried out on América TV, I have received multiple awards. In addition to my work on television, I have also presented at events. The most notable in recent years is the official New Year’s Eve Party of the city of Miami, in Bayfront Park (it is considered the second most important in the entire US after NY). This year, it is the third time in a row that I have been part of the presenting group.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a path, I would say, less peaceful. I always knew I wanted to dedicate myself to journalism, but I didn’t know anyone close to me who was dedicated to it or had any notions about it.
It has been a constant exploration of the sector and an almost daily discovery of the forms and changes that the industry demands in a constant transformation.

I work as an entertainment reporter for the American Teve News Broadcast. A career as a life entertainment reporter involves observing, analyzing, and reporting on various aspects of an artist. Life entertainment reporters may cover a wide range of topics, including personal experiences, societal trends, cultural phenomena, and human emotions focused on culture and creations.
A career as a reporter offers the opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of human experience and share compelling stories that resonate with audiences around the world. It requires a combination of curiosity, empathy, storytelling prowess, and critical thinking skills to excel in this field.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory related to my work is playing like a TV host in front of the mirror that my grandmother had in the house hall.
