Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Cereijo and Luly Diez-Arguelles.
Hi Amanda and Luly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
At Freya Wellness Co., our dedication to women’s well-being is born from personal experience. Drawing from our own journeys into motherhood and the subsequent challenges we faced, we realized the need for better care. Witnessing the struggles of not only ourselves but also our mothers and other women close to us, we were motivated to make a difference.
Prior to starting Freya Wellness, we worked in various settings from acute in-hospital care to outpatient orthopedic clinics. Despite the setting we were in, we observed a significant gap in the healthcare system when it comes to addressing women’s needs.
Too often, we encounter women either not getting the care they deserve or striving to repair the damage that could have been avoided. While there has been commendable progress in supporting women during pregnancy and postpartum, there remains a critical void in care for those in transitional phases.
Instead of waiting and hoping that we would see a chance, we decided to be the change. We opened our doors in November 2023. We help women who suffer from (or want to prevent) pelvic pain, bladder/bowel/sexual dysfunction, pregnancy/postpartum related ailments, post-surgical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal concerns, fertility concerns, perimenopause, and menopause. Our holistic approach to care ensures that we treat the whole person, not just the condition.
At Freya Wellness Co., our mission is clear: to support women through every stage of life. We believe that preventative and holistic care is essential, and we are committed to filling the gaps in women’s health services. From menstruation to menopause, we are here to help women build strong, healthy bodies through every phase of their journey.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our journey from our start to now, where we’ve been treating patients for about five months, has generally been smooth sailing. However, one of our main challenges has been raising awareness among referring providers about the services we offer and the care we can provide to their patients/clients. Once they grasp the scope of our work, they are usually eager to refer their patients or clients to us. Unfortunately, many are unaware that this type of specialized care for women even exists.
Another hurdle we’ve encountered is the issue of women struggling to prioritize their own well-being. As women, we often find ourselves putting everyone else’s needs before our own, including our healthcare needs. It’s a tendency deeply ingrained in our societal roles, but one that we’re actively working to change.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our mission is simple… to build strong, healthy bodies for women. We’re a group of female physical therapists who believe in working with women at every stage in life to strive towards their healthiest, strongest bodies yet. From menstruation to menopause and everything in between, we’re dedicated to providing specialized physical therapy services tailored to the unique needs of women.
We offer concierge physical therapy services for women either in-home or in-office. We have two locations: Rever Wellness in the heart of Coral Gables and One Tribe in Midtown. We see you one on one for an hour starting with an evaluation as your first visit. After evaluation, you and your therapist will collaboratively create a plan of care and schedule your upcoming follow-up treatment sessions. We offer a la carte sessions or packages.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Compassion and empathy towards our patients. LISTENING to their needs and then tailoring their care. We’re stubborn when it comes to not accepting lower-quality care for our patients. We persist in educating them and other providers on the benefits of what we do.
