Inspiring Conversations with Nadia Velasquez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Velasquez.

Nadia Velasquez

Nadia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello there! Let me share a bit about my journey with you. I was born in Venezuela in 1971, into a family surrounded by sisters, cousins, and grandparents. After graduating in Marketing, I took a leap and, at the age of 24, founded my first company specializing in organizing corporate events nationwide.

Fast forward to 2009, my husband, our two daughters, and I made the decision to migrate to Mexico, seeking refuge from the political and social challenges my country was facing. Thankfully, Mexico welcomed us with open arms, and we lived there for nearly four years. In 2012, an opportunity arose for us to move to Florida due to a job offer for my husband. It wasn’t an easy decision to migrate again and leave everything behind, but dreams were always on our minds and in our hearts.

Since 2012, we’ve been calling Weston home—a city we deeply love and respect for the quality of life it offers and the friends and family we’ve found here. Up until 2017, I managed my company in Venezuela remotely, but as traveling to my home country became increasingly challenging, I had to make the tough decision to bring it to a close. It took me months to make that decision, but it simultaneously opened the door for me to venture into Real Estate.

When I obtained my Real Estate license, it was with the intention of gaining the knowledge to assist people like myself—those coming from other countries, unsure of the proper procedures for initiating a real estate transaction in Florida. My experience of over 20 years in Venezuela, interacting with clients and addressing their needs, has been instrumental in driving my Real Estate business forward.

Through my experience in Venezuela and the empathy I share with my clients, I am delighted to say that today I have the privilege of serving clients from various countries in Latin America for their real estate transactions.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Certainly, I’ve faced some challenging situations in this industry. One of them has been the language barrier. Despite living in Florida, particularly in Weston, where over 65% of its residents have Hispanic origins, language has always been a slight hurdle. Today, my English has improved significantly since my arrival, but there’s still room for growth.

Another challenge has been building trust with my clients, given that over 80% of my transactions are conducted remotely from other countries. However, empathy, knowledge, and excellent service have been crucial in establishing that trust. It’s heartening to see clients choosing my company for their property transactions here in Florida.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our services go far beyond just selling a property or assisting our clients in making a purchase. Our goal is to ensure our clients feel secure with our services, finding everything they need within one dedicated team, and eliminating the need to search through different channels.

In the case of purchasing, we provide the opportunity to explore financing, both locally and internationally. We extend the chance to acquire brand-new properties with exclusive discounts and incentives. Our transactions are backed by reliable lenders and title companies, offering security and protection throughout the process. Additionally, we offer rental services, whether it’s finding qualified tenants for your properties or assisting local clients in search of a rental home.

Not limited to Miami-Dade and Broward County, we also open doors to the Central Florida market. We keep our clients informed about market trends, new projects, legal updates, and much more. If our clients require it, we even lend a helping hand in property maintenance. Their peace of mind is our priority!

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing I’ve always believed in and kept in mind is that to work well, stay focused, and, most importantly, enjoy your business, it’s crucial to engage in parallel activities that help ease the day-to-day stress. Personally, I’m a sports enthusiast, and I absolutely love running—I’m a marathon runner. I find immense joy in traveling and participating in races in different cities, often accompanied by my family or friends.

Running provides a constant goal, encouraging me to get up every day, train, and not only reach but truly savor each achievement. It mirrors how I manage my business—setting targets, working towards them, and relishing the journey. After all, a bit of running and a lot of business make for a balanced and fulfilling life! I am passionate about astrology; I see it as another tool to learn about the human being. It helps me understand more and be a kinder, more empathetic person!
