Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Cacabelos.
Hi Gabriel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a kid, I always had a passion for arts, I drew everywhere and every time I could. Later on in life, this passion found a match when I was introduced to films. While working at a production house in the post-production department I decided I would study filmmaking. Ever since then, I’ve been in pursuit of fulfilling my dream of earning a living as a creative, which has led me to gravitate around various marketing departments.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been challenging as it is a competitive field and the fact that most people don’t consider the grade of difficulty it takes to create and the practice it takes to master an art form.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a rare breed as I don’t necessarily specialize in one thing but instead, I wear multiple hats, I’m very technical and technology comes very easily to me but my favorite thing to do is to create. Knowing the equipment and tools of the trade as in-depth as possible facilitates the creative process as it opens up many windows of opportunity. What sets me apart from most is the fact that I’m in a permanent learning state, always looking to become better at everything I do and trying to outwork everyone else around me.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Learn to be consistent, exponential growth is keen. Learn to follow so that later you can lead. And have fun so that people will enjoy working with you.
