Hi Alonso, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My journey in the furniture industry is short but at the same time very rich in knowledge and amazing people that I meet along the way such as amazing clients, manufacturers, etc. I am now 23 years old as we speak and I started Garelli Furniture when I was 22 years old after graduating from Barry University in International Business.

I noticed a problem when people shop for furniture, big retailers charge super high amount of prices and on top of that, they take weeks and even months to deliver your furniture. That is when I started to think of the idea of manufacturing my own products, having my own brand, and having our customers happy with their high-end furniture same or better quality than the big stores and most impressively having their furniture the same day in their house.

Over time, my dedication to excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction began to pay off. Word-of-mouth referrals and positive reviews helped to propel the growth of my business, allowing me to expand my product line and reach a wider audience.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the most valuable things I have learned along the way is to stop focusing on personal or corporate benefits and start looking more toward customer satisfaction. That is when things start to get traction and everything seems to start running smoother outstanding other businesses that focus only on their personal benefit. Of course, there are obstacles along the way but we have to see them as opportunities to grow more and learn from them.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In my professional life, furniture is all I do. I try to focus most of my energy on providing solutions to people in the industry. I specialize in making clients happier by saving tons of money and having their sofas in their house which is the part of the house where most people spend their time with their family. Soon we will join the bedding industry with stunning mattresses and beds.

I am most proud of being in the process of building something beautiful and having my loved ones healthy. I believe one of the things that sets me apart would be the advantage of being an ex-D1 tennis player. I think that helps me view life differently, be competitive, and never give up on my dreams.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Furniture is a growing industry, it exponentially grows each year in the US, especially in South Florida which is a hot market. My team and I are always looking for trending products, prioritizing quality over quantity.

Doing that over time I think is going to lead us to have some stores in the next 5 years and start selling nationwide as well. I see Garelli Furniture as very well positioned in the sectional sofa and bedding industry known for their affordable prices without compromising the quality and prestige top brands have.
