Conversations with Sarah Akiba

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Akiba.

Sarah Akiba

Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! I’m Sarah Akiba, born in the fashion capital of Paris, France. I come from a background immersed in style, thanks to my parents who were global antique collectors. Their influence instilled in me a love for simplicity and attention to detail. I’ve earned a reputation in the Miami styling scene for my ability to create unexpected sartorial combinations that tell a story. My happiest moments are when I’m crafting sustainable pieces from scratch to bring my vision to life. Additionally, I’m deeply passionate about aesthetics, design, and art, which is reflected in my work at our natural light photo studio and event space, where we focus on branding, creative productions, and hosting events and editorial shoots.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say my struggles made way to my biggest superpowers and the success to everything that I have created and become. Establishing AWOM (Angel Watching Over Me), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been one of the most impactful journeys for me. I founded AWOM in honor of my late father, Charlie Akiba, who passed in 2013. The organization started as a support group for those who have lost loved ones and has since expanded to include initiatives like AWOM Girls Club , providing support and solutions for various hardships. Seeing the lives we’ve touched and the positive impact we’ve made has been incredibly rewarding. Whether it’s providing shelter for a single mother or aiding in life-changing medical procedures, AWOM strives to make a difference in people’s lives by fostering community and communication.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a versatile creator and stylist with a passion for bringing ideas to life in various forms. Whether it’s designing a store for Pegasus Horse Races or styling celebrities for the red carpet, my work knows no bounds. My artistic vision transcends boundaries, and my attention to detail ensures that every project becomes a masterpiece. I pride myself on capturing the essence of any event or individual, blending creativity and sophistication seamlessly. My goal is not just to create but to transform dreams into reality with a unique touch and unparalleled flair, making me a true luminary in the world of creativity and style.

Before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work, collaborate, or support you?
If you’re looking to collaborate or support my work, feel free to reach out. Together, we can turn any idea into reality and make a meaningful impact in the world of design and style.
