Today, we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Salamanca.
Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My passion for beauty and content creating started way back in 2010. For Christmas, my sister had gifted me my first makeup collection. Most were drugstore products, primarily Wet n Wild and E.L.F Cosmetics. I didn’t have much knowledge of beauty besides using lipgloss, but being a creative and artistic person since I was a child, I decided to start experimenting and playing around with makeup. As time passed, makeup looks seemed difficult to accomplish, so I turned to my trusty old friend YouTube for help.
On YouTube, I discovered the world of beauty tutorials, and that’s when my knowledge in beauty, filming, and editing expanded. I fell in love with the idea of being a content creator, which is something I am passionate about, and being able to network with other creators or brands has always been fascinating to me. Every day, I learn something new; it’s amazing. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve worked with amazing brands, including my all-time favorite E.L.F Cosmetics, and it’s been an honor.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think you’ll have some bumps on the road with any journey. My journey so far has been a rollercoaster ride. I was on and off for a couple of years until 2023. Went through a lot of changes throughout the years.
From having my two little ones, my husband being in the military, struggling with my mental health, and deciding to finally fulfill my dream full-time. 2023 was truly a 360 on my life and goals. I pushed myself and took a leap of faith, and I’m so thankful I trusted my intuition because it’s been so rewarding.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Content Creator. I mostly film beauty and lifestyle videos.
I am most proud of following my dream and being consistent about it. What might set me apart is that I love being genuine and showing that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, and I love celebrating that.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
From the COVID-19 crisis, I’ve learned that social media has greatly impacted society. It opened up doors to so many creators and businesses, too. Also, I learned to be extra sanitary in public places.
