Today we’d like to introduce you to Pawel Borzym.
Hi Pawel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2004, I relocated from Poland to Miami and initially engaged in diverse job roles. My journey took an unexpected turn when I found myself working in a contemporary art gallery, where I discovered a profound passion for the world of art.
Drawing upon the foundation of skills acquired during my formative years in Poland, through both my educational background and upbringing in family businesses, I systematically developed a versatile skill set that included expertise in carpentry, welding, fabrication, and electronics. These skills, honed through practical experience and a commitment to excellence, became integral to my professional journey.
As I transitioned into the art world, my diverse skill set proved invaluable in collaborating with fellow artists. Together, we seamlessly integrated various mediums to bring sculptures to life, leveraging my expertise in carpentry, welding, fabrication, and electronics. The proficiency gained through my early education and family business involvement not only enriched my capabilities but also significantly contributed to the collaborative and interdisciplinary nature of the artistic projects in which I engaged.
During this period, I experienced a personal awakening and honed my artistic voice. Three years ago, fueled by this newfound inspiration, I embarked on a dedicated solo career in the realm of artistry. This transition allowed me to fully immerse myself in expressing my creativity and contributing to the dynamic landscape of the art world.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey in the United States, both before and following my arrival, has been profoundly fulfilling. Remarkable occurrences along the way have led me to believe that my path was destined for me to be here, pursuing my passion for art.
One of the most challenging periods in my life unfolded shortly after my arrival in the U.S. Initially coming on a student exchange program, my deep admiration for this country, particularly Florida, prompted me to make a life-altering decision to overstay my visa. Despite the inherent challenges, my dedication prevailed, and I persevered through the process, eventually earning the privilege of becoming a citizen of this remarkable nation.
This transformative experience has reinforced my commitment to contributing to the cultural fabric of the United States through my artistic endeavors. It has imbued my journey with a profound sense of purpose and gratitude, inspiring me to channel my creative energy into meaningful expressions that resonate with the rich tapestry of American life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an artist specializing in the innovative use of empty recycled bullets as a medium for artistic expression. My creative endeavors are centered around exploring the profound juxtaposition of tender emotions and robust materials, resulting in a visually compelling contrast that captivates the observer.
Demonstrating a unique ability to transform elements often associated with violence and destruction into a conduit for artistic expression, my work serves as an invitation for viewers to contemplate the intricate facets of the human experience. Committed to pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms, my pieces have graced galleries and exhibitions across the nation, garnering recognition for their distinctive approach.
What I am most proud of is my proficiency in executing each work with meticulous precision and unwavering attention to detail, utilizing unconventional materials.
This commitment to precision not only reflects in the aesthetic appeal of my creations but also distinguishes me from others in the artistic realm. Each piece I craft extends an invitation to the audience to delve beyond the surface, encouraging an exploration of the deeper meanings woven into the very fabric of the materials I employ.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I actively invite individuals to engage with and support my artistic pursuits through various means. One avenue is the commissioning of personalized sculptures, a process I find profoundly satisfying. The challenges inherent in these commissions propel me to delve deeper into my artistic expression, fostering continual growth in my craft.
Additionally, I am enthusiastic about collaboration, as it not only broadens my creative perspectives but also introduces the use of different materials. Collaborative ventures serve as invaluable opportunities to explore new avenues of thinking and artistic innovation.
In the digital realm, social media plays a pivotal role in supporting my mission. The act of following, liking, commenting, and sharing on social media platforms greatly contributes to the visibility of my work and the resonance it creates.
Moreover, I welcome exhibition opportunities as a means to introduce my work to a broader audience and connect with art collectors. Embracing any chances to showcase my sculptures, I remain open to invitations for exhibitions that align with my artistic vision.
For those interested in working with me or offering support, I encourage contact via email or through direct messages on my Instagram account. These platforms serve as efficient channels for communication and collaboration, facilitating a seamless connection with those who share a passion for art and creativity.
