Daily Inspiration: Meet Aaliyah Nicole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaliyah Nicole.

Aaliyah Nicole

Hi Aaliyah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always wanted to be an entertainer for as long as I can remember. I found myself singing in the mirror and experimenting with different ranges in my voice in my grandmother’s room because the acoustics were simply magical in there.

I media trained myself studying the greats before me and scoured online for inspiration from my idols like Britney Spears, Beyonce, and Mya. I was sucked into the world of music by my father and mother who were heavily involved in the industry. Yet, I knew the path I wanted to pave for myself was different than what my family saw for me. I grew up singing in my church choir so I often would hear them urge me to sing gospel music however, when I heard ChanceTheRapper’s “Coloring Book,” my perspective shifted, and what little worry I had melted away. I knew that there was a way to merge the word of God and, more importantly, love into my music.

Thus, the journey began and despite the many trials and tribulations I’ve faced, I remain still with a belief like no other that my destiny is written and will come to fruition. I love music so much and it is the very thing that saves my life time and time again. It is the sweetest constant in my life and I enjoy sharing my heart with my fans, my Angels.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It most certainly has not been a smooth road. It has been very challenging to say the least, especially if one wants to be in a relationship while pursuing a career in the music industry. I’ve lost friends, been disrespected by content creators, and had photographers and animators run off with my money more times than I can remember.

Yet, my heart remains unfazed and I’ve become extremely vigilant in properly vetting the creatives I decide to collaborate with. I’ve also had a few “me too” experiences and some interesting run-ins with artists, producers, and DJs, however, I stay in constant prayer so I’m happy nothing too devastating that would cost me my life has occurred.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an R&B singer, songwriter, and actress. I also have a production company, Pyramid Productions Entertainment, that assists other artists with creative directing their projects, along with creating music video treatments and styling if needed on the big day. I know how nerve-wracking creating anything can be so if I have the skills to simplify the process for someone else I am more than happy to.

I’m known for my visual expertise and for making lyrically inclined music. I am most proud of the record I just released “Say Something” and the many more to come. I try to dive into different genres until I find the sound that my fans gravitate to the most. I don’t like to be boxed in so I consider myself a genre bender. of sorts. I love to intermix sounds and feelings from different music of all cultures. I have a lot to say and I love that the way I communicate in such a profound and poetic way is a gift that I never will take for granted.

What does success mean to you?
I believe success is subjective and can be defined differently by different individuals. Generally, it refers to the achievement of goals, the fulfillment of aspirations, or the attainment of a desired outcome. Success may encompass personal, professional, or societal accomplishments, reflecting one’s sense of achievement, satisfaction, and well-being.

It often involves a combination of effort, perseverance, and the realization of one’s objectives or ambitions. Which in short, simply means no matter where life may take you as long as you’re giving it your all and it makes you happy. That is all that matters.
