Exploring Life & Business with Felix Llibre of Loews Coral Gables Hotel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felix Llibre.

Felix Llibre

Hi Felix, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, FL, and started my professional career with Marriott International as a Sales Manager for Courtyard Hotels. I enjoyed 10 years in different sales and account management roles before accepting a Director position with the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

In 2018, I joined Loews Hotels & Co. as the Associate Director of Sales for the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. In 2022, I joined the opening team for the new Loews Coral Gables Hotel as Director of Sales and opened the hotel in November of 2022. I’ve had the most amazing experience with Loews Hotels & Co, and I am infinitely grateful to be a part of this organization.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, it’s been a great journey. There are bumps along the way no doubt, but you learn to accept them and choose which perspective to take.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Loews Coral Gables Hotel?
The Loews Coral Gables Hotel opened in November 2022, the first luxury new-build for Coral Gables in decades, and part of what will be known as The Plaza. I was part of the opening team and joined as Director of Sales in January 2022. The Hotel boasts 242 rooms, and 22 suites including a 1400 sq. ft. Presidential Suite, a 9,000 sq. ft Ballroom with natural light and terrace, a rooftop pool with furnished cabanas, and an Event Lawn, along with a spa and gym.

I am most proud of our friendly staff, so many guests that I talk to, talk about our great team members. As a brand, I am proud of our contribution and commitment to the communities in which we operate. Loews Coral Gables is connected to the Plaza Coral Gables, easily accessible from Miami International Airport, and offers high-end shopping, dining, entertainment, and a sculpture lawn.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Lately, I’ve been listening to the Marketing Book podcast. I am currently reading ‘The Obstacle is the Way’ by Ryan Holiday.
