Neha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a beauty and fashion photographer based in New York City. My photography career was a bold step away from the corporate world, in search of a more creatively fulfilling and purpose-driven life.
What started as a casual engagement in my early twenties with photography unfolded into a profound journey. It wasn’t just about capturing images; I learned it was the connection, storytelling, and emotional exploration that moved me. And led me to pursue a creative career.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While it hasn’t been a smooth road in the traditional sense, each obstacle has been a valuable opportunity for growth. Transitioning from the corporate world to pursue a creative and purpose-driven life posed its share of uncertainties.
I encountered hurdles, learned to navigate unexpected turns, and embraced the inevitable learning curves that come with any worthwhile pursuit. These challenges, however, have been instrumental in shaping my perspective, enhancing my skills, and fortifying my determination.
In retrospect, the bumps along the road have been essential in sculpting the path I’ve traveled, adding depth and resilience to my journey as a beauty and fashion photographer.

I am a beauty and fashion photographer based in New York City. My style draws inspiration from the captivating elements of femininity and allure, creating timeless imagery in a world where trends come and go. But my approach goes far beyond aesthetics. It’s about weaving narratives, forging genuine connections, and delving into emotional exploration. While my technical expertise keeps the creative process flowing seamlessly, it’s my unwavering creative desire and passion that drive me to continually evolve and deliver successful projects.
My work includes features in prestigious publications like Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Marie Claire, Glamour, Grazia, L’Officiel, and more. I am proudest of the opportunity to collaborate with remarkable creatives and bring forth work that resonates not just aesthetically but also on a deeper level. Drawing on my corporate experience, I bring valuable leadership skills to the table. I lead teams and manage projects effectively. My technical expertise keeps me connected to the creative flow, collaborating effectively with teams and subjects. From preparing mood boards to directing the team and conducting model casting, I provide creative direction throughout the editorial shoot process.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The COVID-19 crisis has been a profound teacher, revealing valuable lessons that have reshaped my perspective both personally and professionally. One crucial realization has been the significance of adaptability. The ever-changing landscape demanded a flexible approach, prompting me to embrace alternative creative processes.
Another lesson revolves around the importance of resilience and the ability to find inspiration in unexpected places. I delved into self-portraiture as a means to stay creative and maintain a personal connection to my work. The challenging times pushed me to explore unconventional sources of creativity, fostering a deeper connection with my craft.
