Hi Patrice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello everyone! My name is Patrice Perkins. I was born and raised in the Palm beach county area as I am currently residing in Lake Worth Beach. I wanted to make some extra money over the summer and build more of an image for myself, so I decided to put being a brand ambassador/Influencer to the test. I also wanted to find another hobby that would keep my interest since I spend most of my leisure time at home with my dogs or at cheerleading practice.
My first serious collaboration was with Popl. A digital business card platform, and then Sauce Avenue; a streetwear apparel company. From then on, I started applying and reaching out to more and more companies that offer good benefits with commissions consistently. I am now currently a brand ambassador and affiliate for over 6 companies and more to come!
The more I post content, the better I become at creating content and putting everything together in great detail to appeal to my audience. Becoming a brand ambassador and affiliate marketer was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself as I enjoy being the face and representation of the companies I partner with. I am starting to become more noticed by brands which is exciting, and being reached out to regarding a collaboration puts the biggest smile on my face.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been quite an easy road for me so far, not many challenges were faced while becoming an ambassador.
Gaining a following and receiving PR packages can be a tough spot to be in especially when I first started my influencing journey. At times, I may not get accepted into some brands that I apply for, which is okay! I keep going and continue to achieve my goals by doing what is working for me the best!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have a passion for creating promotive content for brands, helping brands expand their reach, giving honest feedback, and earning sales! Sometimes I simply search for a product I enjoy and advertise it in exchange for profit and/or recognition. I am also a high school student that tries very hard in school. I am determined to put my all into making exceptional grades to please mainly me but also my mother.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting.
For those who consider going into the marketing or influencer industry, go for it! Take things slow and do not rush. Learn your audience, study your niche, and understand who you want to be and why.
Whatever happens in the process is for the best and you will see that eventually. Effort & skill plays a big role in this kind of work and I can assure you that big things are going to come your way very soon. Everyone’s journey is different so never give up.
