Today we’d like to introduce you to David P. Milian.
Hi David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Thanks for having me here, I appreciate the opportunity. Like many in our city, I was raised in Miami as part of a first generation Cuban-American family. This had a strong impact on shaping my identity and aspirations. From an early age, I had a very clear focus on becoming an attorney and working to support our South Florida community.
Growing up in a predominantly immigrant community, I witnessed firsthand the need for solid legal advocates who could empower and support others. During college and law school, I attended the University of Florida, becoming a proud double gator and graduating with honors.
In 2023, with over three decades of experience in law and complex civil litigation, I reached a pivotal moment where I decided to establish a boutique law firm alongside my wife and law partner. This partnership allows us to combine our collective knowledge and deep commitment to serving our clients while giving back to the community we love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Without question, there have been challenging moments. As a legal advocate, I am always striving to achieve the best results for my clients, and that process can be intensive. For example, I recently had the privilege to serve as lead counsel on a groundbreaking data privacy case that resulted in a $100 million settlement in a class action lawsuit against a prominent Fortune 100 global company.
This particular achievement was not linear, but instead the culmination of seven years of relentless litigation against a formidable global adversary with unlimited time and resources to fight our client. We dedicated ourselves to fighting for justice and standing up against wrongdoing.

I’m excited for this next stage in our personal and professional lives. With a combined 47 years of legal experience, my wife and I have established a values driven boutique law firm. We believe strongly in working collaboratively with our clients and providing them with dedicated, personalized coverage. The Milian Legal Group supports our clients in addressing their most significant challenges head-on.
We provide our clients with concierge guidance and support throughout the legal process. We work closely with our clients to partner with them and develop customized legal strategies tailored to their unique needs and goals. At our firm, we believe in providing our clients with the exceptional service and results that they deserve.
So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
This is a great question. The path to success in life, however you define it, is never a solitary journey. In both life and business, what truly matters is the quality and depth of the relationships we build. I was taught this concept as a child, and I can say that this lesson has remained true throughout my life.
While achieving professional success is important, dedicating time and attention to nurturing our relationships with family, close friends, professional peers, and the community is equally vital. Now, as a parent of five, I try to instill this lesson in my own children as well.
My wife and I find a lot of meaning in supporting local nonprofits and serving on the boards of two Miami-based charities that serve and empower children and families in South Florida. We are grateful to have the opportunity to serve families in our community, and we strive to create a positive impact that extends far beyond our professional endeavors.
